Welcome to World of Tanks Asia! These forums, as well as our Discord server and social networks, are here to provide you with a friendly atmosphere where you can exchange ideas, share gameplay advice, and discuss aspects of World of Tanks with other players.
Digital communities are at their best when participants treat fellow posters with respect and courtesy. Therefore, we ask that you conduct yourself in a civilized manner when participating on official WoT channels and be mindful of your audience.
The guidelines and rules listed below explain what behavior is expected of you and what behavior you can expect from other community members. Wargaming reserves the right to evaluate each incident on a case by case basis. The actions taken may be more lenient or more severe than those listed under each category.
Before engaging in any of our official channels, all users are to read the following rules. These rules are obligatory for all registered users on this forum, our Discord server, Twitch chat and ‘WoT Asia’ Facebook/Twitter pages.
1. GENERAL
1.1 Registration Requirements
There is no requirement for a user to use his or her real name or to use any other form of identification that can be used to easily trace identities, and all e-mail addresses that are provided will be kept private. In order to register on World of Tanks forum, registrants must be thirteen (13) years of age or older.
Users are solely responsible for protecting their accounts from access by others. It is highly recommended that users do not share their accounts with others, or share their computers used to access the site with others. In case of a lost or hacked account, users are to inform support immediately.
1.2 Community Goal
The purpose of this forum, and our broader network of social channels outside the game, is to discuss World of Tanks and related topics, get to know fellow players, find a clan to join, and to give feedback to the Wargaming developers. While expressing your own opinion on battles, tanks, and the game at large – be it positive or negative – is welcome and encouraged, please do so politely, with respect to both your fellow players, moderators, and Wargaming staff. At the end of the day, we are all connected by our shared passion for World of Tanks.
1.3 Responsibility
A user’s comments on any official World of Tanks channel are solely the views of that user, and are in no way representative of Wargaming. Any user who feels that a posted message is objectionable is encouraged to contact the moderation team immediately. Wargaming employees and community moderators have the ability to remove objectionable messages and will make every effort to do so, if it is found that removal is necessary.
1.4 Sanction Policy
Violations of these rules may lead to users being sanctioned temporarily or permanently within the relevant channel(s) or even in-game bans of a players account on severe/repetitive offenses.
1.5 Error reporting
Bugs and errors can be reported at the support website (https://asia.wargaming.net/support/), Users can also report any bugs and errors on the corresponding forum boards or digital channels.
2. PROHIBITED CONDUCT
2.1 Etiquette
Users are not allowed to abuse others, make personal attacks or behave disrespectfully. This prohibition applies to both public threads and private messages on forums, as well as in the World of Tanks Asia Discord server, Twitch chat and Facebook page.
Disrespect can include but is not limited to:
- Flaming
- Trolling
- Harassment
- Profanity (including abbreviations)
- Personal Abuse or Insults
- Prejudicial Comments (racism, sexism, bigotry, discrimination, etc.)
- Jokes in Bad Taste (unnecessary use of terms including ‘cancer’, ‘autistic’, ‘retarded’, ‘reee’ etc.)
- Excessive Capitalization
- ‘NSFW’ Content (nudity, gore, violence, sexually explicit content)
2.2 Real-Life Information and Threats
Posting and discussions of users’ personal data (such as addresses, telephone numbers, emails, and other contact information) will be removed. Users who publish this type of content on the forum will be warned or sanctioned by an administrator or moderator.
No rude or disrespectful posts to or about any forum moderators or Wargaming employees, as well as no release of real-life information about moderators or Wargaming employees are allowed on this forum or any official channels.
'Real-Life' threats include both clear and masked language and/or links to websites containing such language or images which refers to violence in any capacity that is not directly related to the game world. (i.e. ‘Swatting’)
2.3 Advertising
Users are not allowed to post threads or comments that advertise or solicit any non-beneficial, non-Wargaming related businesses, organization, or website. Explicit advertising and solicitation in signatures are also prohibited.
2.4 Accounts, Gold/Credits, Promotional Codes, Leveling Services, Begging
This category includes:
- Advertising of/or selling of game accounts.
- Advertising of/or selling of in game currency such as gold/credits.
- Advertising of/or selling of leveling services.
- Advertising of/or selling of promotional codes or pre-order codes.
This also encompasses begging in any form. Begging includes but is not limited to:
- Requesting users to transfer real money in any form.
- Asking for additional gold/credits.
- Requests to transfer game gold/credits, promotional codes, pre-order codes.
- Linking to or promoting websites that contain the above prohibited services.
All types of posts for the sale or promotion of the exchange or transfer of accounts, currency, codes, and other services from one user to another violate the EULA and are prohibited within the forums and game channels. “Jokes” towards these matters will be treated as real attempts at sale or promotion.
2.5 Spamming and Trolling
This category includes:
- Spamming a particular comment, thread or channel.
- Creating threads on topics that already exist on the forums.
- Off-Topic posting. (This is however welcome in our #off-topic Discord channel.)
- Creating threads/posts for the sole purpose of causing unrest on the forums.
- Creating threads/posts for purpose of reporting or discussing in game violations.
- Abusing the "Report Post" feature.
2.6 Politics and Religion
Posting about social, religious, political, illegal or other controversial topics that may create offense is prohibited. As well as negative portrayal of religious and political figures on any official channel.
2.7 Law Violations
This category includes:
- Linking to/discussing any malicious software, including in-game hacks.
- Linking to/discussing any content procured by hacking/mining the game client.
- Any activity that is in violation of local or international laws.
3. MISCELLANEOUS
3.1 Hard-to-Read Posts
Posts that disrupt the message boards for other users, intentional or not, are prohibited. This category includes, but is not limited, to:
- Posting excessively in capital letters, Excessive white-space or line breaks, ‘leet’ speak, or other hard-to-read writing styles.
- Using misleading topic titles, excessive punctuation, and/or non-standard symbols.
Posts on official channels are to be reasonable with font size and color. Administrators reserve the right to evaluate posts on a case-by-case basis and give warnings to their authors. Please note: The use of red text is exclusively reserved for administrator/moderator edits, any use of red text without these roles will be considered as impersonating a moderator.
3.2 Links and Images
External links and images shared within official channels are subject to all rules within the code of conduct. Open external links at your own risk.
3.3 Names (Players and Clans), Avatars, Images/Video, Signatures & Clan logos
Certain content for names, avatars, images/video, signatures & clan logos, have no place on the World of Tanks forums or within the World of Tanks game, due to their extremely offensive, or inappropriate nature. Any violation of the existing Code of Conduct also applies to content shared or used as an avatar/username. These include, but are not limited to:
- Anything that would be in violation the ‘Disrespect’ rule. (Code of Conduct 2.1)
- Religious or Nationalist Symbolism
- Historically Offensive Imagery (Nazi imagery, the ‘Rising Sun’ flag, etc.)
- Propaganda
- Violations of Copyright Law
- Violations of the End User License Agreement.
Excessively long forum signatures are not permitted. Signatures can contain animation, but be mindful of strobe-lighting or epilepsy-inducing imagery. Furthermore, you are required to use your IGN (and clan if you so choose) as your ‘Nickname’ when using the official Discord server. Refusal to do so can lead to your removal.
4. ADMINISTRATION and MODERATION
4.1 Administrators
Administrators are Wargaming.net employees. The administrator status is confirmed by “Group: Administrators, Developer, Support” inscription under the user nickname, or with a [WG] and red username in Discord.
4.2 Moderators
Moderators are not Wargaming employees, they are dedicated and active players recruited from within the community. Moderators uphold the Code of Conduct across all official channels, working alongside the Administration team.
The moderator status is confirmed by “Moderators” inscription under the user nickname, or with a red username in Discord.
4.3 Administrators and Moderators’ Powers
Administrators and moderators have the right to warn or suspend users in the case of a Code of Conduct violation. Any measures taken by moderators can be appealed to support via the website (http://asia.wargaming.net/support/), in accordance with the established procedure. Measures taken by administration are not subject to appeal. In some cases, which go beyond the Code of Conduct, administrators can additionally warn or suspend a particular user, even if their actions formally don’t fall under the current prohibitions and restrictions.
4.4 Warnings and Impersonation
The warnings and official notifications are set off in red, this font color is reserved by moderators and administrators. Any other moderator’s message is considered to be an ordinary one and is equal to a message of any user. Once a post has been moderated, users are not permitted to edit the moderators notes placed within the post. Similarly, the impersonation of the administration or moderating team in any way, is not permitted. On Discord, Twitch, Facebook or Twitter, a user can be warned up to three times before being removed from the channel, or kicked immediately, pending the severity of the offence. Impersonating an administrator or moderator in this fashion is in breach of the Code of Conduct.
4.5 Restrictions on Administrators and Moderators
Moderators however are not official employees of Wargaming.net and recruited from the player base. They have no special abilities in game to give them any advantage, other than the ability to issue chat mutes within the game. If users believe a moderator to be biased in any way or acted inappropriately, they are to send the details to support via the website (http://asia.wargaming.net/support/) and it shall be investigated by management.
IMPORTANT
The administration reserves the right to update and modify these rules as the needs of the community dictate to ensure the smooth operation of this community.
Repeatedly violating any area of these rules or EULA, including the areas detailed above, will often result in permanent suspension from the game or official external channels.
Appeals to any sanctions or punishments received in violation of these rules must be lodged with Customer Support. The report should contain the complete description of the dispute with the corresponding screenshots attached if needed.
