beginning next week from 08:00 UTC+8 (00:00 UTC).

Sorry, I'm a little confused.  Is that 8am UTC or midnight UTC?

I'm 'hoping' it's midnight UTC as 8am UTC is 7pm in Sydney, 9pm in New Zealand and 4pm in Singapore.  Not exactly an ideal time to be bringing the servers down twice every week.

Its 00.00 UTC, which corresponds to 08.00 AM SG time (UTC+8). Sorry for any possible confusion.

At last someone at SEA has seen the sense in not performing server maintenance during peak periods.

Warning points are the new +1[

I suspect it has more to do with the login problems we get every Sunday.  Hopefully these server restarts will prevent the login issues.

The ping spikes are due to the undersea cables needing to be repaired, so I doubt these server restarts will help that.

No worries.  You might want to correct the announcement on the site so that it says 08:00 SG instead of 08:00 UTC.

Probably the same restarts as usual, on Thursday now. 11am NSW/Vic, 10am TAS/QLD, 9:30 NT/SA. No idea for NZ.

Shut up. Chrome on the iPhone is buggy like CoD, with the same amount of patches.

And are you saying Tas is on daylight savings? Cbf googling that acronym.

You can do whatever you like to it in the mornings

Really that think are you?

08:00 UTC+8 = (00:00 UTC)

Have no idea what you're trying to say, but yes, that's confusing.  In fact wouldn't 08:00 UTC+8 be 16:00 UTC?

Ok, so it probably means 8am in the timezone of UTC+8 which is Singapore, but I hardly think it's clear.

Yes, that is what I am saying. Australian Eastern Daylight Savings Time as opposed to Australian Eastern StandardTime.

server maintenance at regular schedule is not that bad, except for peak hours. but still, some issues will be solved especially the lag spikes we currently experiencing.
