Where's the Leopard? :D

I thought I've seen Leopards operated here?

We have Leopards, but just that it is a later generation Leopard, not the one in the game. :)

My latest project is to find out the camouflage pattern on the tanks in the Singapore tech tree (as per list in original post), so that we can find the closest match in the game.

Its called a camo net.

Never used any camo pattern except flat green and flat black as the SOP dictates the use of a camo net to be:

1) Easily mounted and removed for wide range of operations/terrain.

2) Not as time consuming and costly as maintaining the camo coats on tanks.

3) Provides better and complete concealment when in a prepared position conpared to camo paint.

4) No point of camoflaging a moving vehicle as it will be spotted anyway (to a sense its true)

I'm not good at this game, its just that the rest of the server sucks~

This is good info for the SAF tanks post-independence.  Any info on the tanks used by the Japanese operating in Malaya during WWII or the British Bren?

They did mention before:

Amx 13 75

Centurion (which mk I'm unsure of)

A few Japanese tanks here and there from WW2 for a very short period of time

I think you mis-read my question.  I am the original poster and I have already compiled the list of tanks.  What I meant was whether you had any info on the *camouflage patterns* that went on those tanks.

Ah I see.

As far as I know there wasn't any. Camo net/ using vegetation as camo was used ever since SG got its first tank.

^ AMX 1375 with flat black paint (camo netting attached to turret rim)

^Side view of the exact same thing.

Love the "Barracuda" on the barrel.  :justwait:

Anyone else have any good camo reference pix for the Japanese tanks in the list (Chi-Ha, Hai-Go, Te-Ke) or our Centurions?  I assume the Centurions would follow the same "no pattern" doctrine as our AMX-13s?

With WOT finally reaching version 1.0, which is a huge milestone and a major re-launch of the game, I circled back to check this post.  I realized that this post is the most read in the Singapore sub-section at more than 38,000 reads currently!  It is also one of the most replied to.  :medal:  This is hugely gratifying for me as the original poster.

Given that there is clearly a lot of interest in this thread, I am wondering whether is there some way to get it pinned.  Is it something us, the community, can galvanize the forum moderators to do?    Popular support & wisdom of the crowd kind of thing...?

Argh.  So sad.  Was hoping against hope it might be a "meritocracy" like Singapore ...and hoping that this thread had accumulated enough "merit"...

SG tested this cute little tankette Wiesel.  http://kementah.blog...med-forces.html

We tow back some T-55 & Type 59s from "Indo-china region" with the usual help and down payment using the WW2 era LSTs for shooting tests using almost everything from A-Z in the ammo dump inventory list before quietly scrap it.  (various different rounds 64mm Carl Gastav, 106mm RCL and that handful of Centurion SAF refused to admit buying from friendly country India and modified by "the Mexicans" even after some 48 years latter.)

Yiren.

Normally you report your thread and ask (as the thread owner) if the thread can be pinned. A moderator will evaluate and judge if it is worth pinning, to not put so fine a point on it.

Couple clear picture of Japanese tanks in Malaya/Spore. Source http://www.combinedf...m/Singapore.htm

Destroyed at Muar.

Orchard Road (That's the Malayan Motors Building close to Cathay)

From that, it looks like they were using standard 1942 three-tone (with yellow band on the tank in Orchard road) with no special adaption for the Malayan Campaign.

Thanks, Tequilapowered.  Those two links are really very useful.  The first one especially also helps with my eventual Singapore ships tech tree for WoWS.
