Japan's tanks saw a lot of action during the country's expansions into South East Asia during World War II. The Japanese forces used a variety of tank strategies such as: ambushes, raids, and even suicide attacks.

"Superpower" Japan is a bit of an overstatement. Their paper-thin tanks got #rekt by Soviet steel at Khalkhyn Gol, overpowered by American-built Stuart tanks of the Republic of China Army, and were useless against the US Army Shermans. In fact, the Shermans had to use HE shells because AP shells went straight through them.

 

The only thing Japanese tanks were good at were massacring Chinese infantry and civilians.

ROFLstomping a weak army that had no anti-tank weapons and tanks makes you a superpower?

Jap tanks are only good at slaughtering infantry and civilians.

Still, if operation downfall had gone into play Japans small number of Chi-nu tanks might have caused havoc, but the war probabbly still would have been lost.

At least it acknowledge that Japanese tank is inferior on its actual article.
