"Asian Invasion"

 

For too long we have watched the Europeans camp on the fertile lands to the west while we suffer the harsh conditions of the barren Mongolian mountains.

No longer!

 

As of 14th February we head for Europe to claim those rich gold deposits in the name of Asia.


The technical specifics

  1. The existing Asia map's time will be adjusted to 2 hours earlier, with the first timezone starting at 2pm SGT (+8UTC)
  2. The Northern Europe map will be added to the Asia map, and the timezones on the Eu map, will be adjusted to adjoin to the timezones of the Asia map

 

This provides clan wars land earlier and later, to better support our wide range of timezones covered.
To get the advantage and early swoop on the new land, make sure to position your clans ready for the Western Push..

 

On the 13th February,

Clan wars will be down for maintenance to add the Northern Europe map.

 

On the 14th February,

Clan-wars will reopen with the following.

 

  • Ransacking ON
  • Revolt ON
  • Spies ON
  • Subversion OFF
  • Tank locking ON
  • Tier cap 10
  • Wipe. NO
  • Re-division mode. NO
  • Landing zone alterations. None
  • Gold allocation alterations. None
  • Prime times. Starting 14:00 SGT -> 23:00 SGT

Adding a full new map without re-division mode will be a lot less than smooth. : )
However,it was done in such way, as, chaotic is more fun... no?

So the west gets a whole new map to move onto and the east gets a map that already has clans established on it and that are now out of their timezone, some by a large margin I presume.

 

Some clans may need to map themselves now as they may lack the players online to move across timezones meaning they are restricted to landing zones.

 

Is this right or have I gotten it all wrong?

The map STRETCHES westward, with the current timezones being shifted 2 hours earlier. So going by our timezone, where PBKAC is now - 2100 Sydney/Melbourne/ACT- becomes 1900, and the 2300 timezone will become the new 2100 timezone.

This is great news for the whole server!

Not only do the NZ players have far more time to compete on the map , but also the later players get a crack at tackling the Euro map.

 

Seems that the Asia server suddenly "grew up".

 

I for one am very happy about the direction that the server is heading.

Why the hell do we want tank locking thats the worst idea ever, or is it being implemented to screw more cash from the players. So your tank gets killed but your clan wins the battle that player is disadvantaged whats the incentive to keep that player interested in CW when he gets his tank locked for 84 hours another stupid WG  idea

I think its a brilliant idea actually, will make clans think as to where their T10s are needed most and brings along a ton more strategy required if you have a few T9/T8 thrown in battles.

 

Though this will definitely benefit the middle to top clans on the server against lower clans.

I am wondering about the timzone of the European lands. How will the timezones be changed? Because the most eastern parts are already about 23:00 or 24:00 GMT +8 does this mean we would be playing maps for like 01:00/02:00 GMT +8? or there will be adjustments in the timzone for the whole Asian map to accommodate the European map with more active players?

This makes the game more interesting. I've been looking forward for this since last year. It will really show how many tier 10 tanks you have. Those who are complaining im betting only has a few :P

i was just talking about this last night during our wait for enemy team to rush.. 

no more team killing..

and tank locking is a great idea, not because i have 16 tanks, but because it will give new tactics and lot will have to be changed even for bigger clans. 

 

and i had a feeling we will get a new map, but this is not what i expected. but i guess more land in anyway would mean that more clans get a chance..

but i thing 2012 NA Europe and Mediterranean  map is the kind of thing we need to give smaller clans better chance and experience in CW

While Tank Locking is indeed a great idea as it introduces a new aspect in CW especially resource management on the part of clan leaders, it creates an uneven field for smaller/newer clans where members have small number Tier 10 tanks...

 

It's a great news for bigger/stronger clans that have vast array of tanks and active members because they have that flexibility... However, but this news is not welcomed by smaller clans like us who enjoy fighting in CW but will soon be deprived the enjoyment using our 2 or 3 Tier 10s destroyed in CW if the Locking Time is beyond 24 hours.

 

I think it would be best if WG should do a test period first (a month probably), gather feedback, and then come up with better Locking Time that will not favor bigger clans and would still encourage new players/clans to participate more in CW.

 

For now, I believe the Tank Locking Timing is favoring bigger clans due to their flexibility in resources.  On the aspect of CQ battle strategy, I can foresee more CAMPING and 'defensive' plays that will make CW less enjoyable.

 

I just hope that this will be reviewed soon to ensure a level field for both big and medium/small clans in CW.

 

Again, this is purely my view and I respect if others may disagree.

 

NOTE:  My apology to Tanitha for high-jacking this thread but in connection to the map expansion, we from PINOY clan will still participate in CW and hope to fight and get a piece of it.

Will NZ clans have a chance to play on the European map or will all the timezones that side of the map be too late for them?

2 hours time would that effect the 23.00 hours restrict to only at 2100?? time zone or just adding new ones which start from 2.00 ?
