The in game "Complaints" system

Posted Image

This system allows players to report others quickly and easily without having to go through the process of contacting support staff via the portal.

It can be accessed in game by pressing the control button and then right clicking on the player concerned.

Number of Complaints

Only a limited number of complaints (10) per day can be sent.  Any ‘unused’ complaints do not carry over and cannot be accumulated

The options in game are as follows.

  • Insults an Provocation
  • Spam
  • Out of game threat
  • Gold selling / fraud
  • Unsportman like conduct
  • Offensive nickname or clanname
  • Inactive / Bot

1. Insults and Provocation
Players who generate a reasonable number of complaints due to insults and provocation will have their game chat logs for the reported games investigated, with normal sanctions being applied for any offenses located. Sanctions are only issued on offenses which have occurred within the last 7 days and have been verified with an investigation of the logs.

While we are unable to investigate every report, players with repeat offenses will end up being investigated shortly.
Complaints stay on file ~14 days and accumulate until an investigation is conducted.
The higher the number of complaints on a player, the sooner they will be investigated.

2. Spam / 3. Out of game threat  / 4. Gold Selling - Fraud
As above, however handled with a higher priority.

5. Unsportman like conduct
On the Asia server these reports are only used for statistical purposes. We are unable to prove these offenses through an in game complaint system, so no sanctions will be placed here.
Please submit these to support for now (With a replay uploaded to http://www.wotreplays.org/).

6. Offensive nickname or clanname
Players who generate a reasonable number of complaints due to naming violations will be investigated.

While we are unable to investigate every report, players with repeat offenses will end up being investigated shortly.
Complaints stay on file ~14 days and accumulate until an investigation is conducted.
The higher the number of complaints on a player, the sooner they will be investigated.

7. Idle / Bot
These reports are used to bring our attention to possible bot-like activity and repetitive and excessive AFK play, which then results in a manual statistical investigation taking place.

Please refer to AFK/Bot Detection & Enforcement

Team killing and friendly fire.

Is handled automatically by the system. That does not mean no action is taken, that means action is taken automatically and thus no in game complaints, or reports to support are needed.

Reports to support on friendly fire, or team killing will not be handled, similarly disputes on friendly fir or team killing sanctions will not be considered.

Is there any way to check how many complaints you've had made against you? It might help discourage the bots.

There is a difference between Inactive and Bot.

Inactive could mean someone lost connection. Can and will happen to everyone.

Reporting someone as Bot is something different and I thing it should be divided so support can pick out the "Bot" reports quickly and investigate them without having tons guys in that reports that just lost connection.

Was already suggested, just saying.

Such reports are investigated if the player has more than xx complaints on them for that topic over the last xx days.

The difference between AFK and macro's and bots, is obvious when investigated with the bot detection system.

The bot detection system presents to us all the details of the players games played over the last 2 weeks.

Shots, movement, hits, etc etc..

Tan, some clarification on the 'Spam' complaint. Is this one used for someone who pings the map 50 times / types heaps of garbage in chat or is it specifically for people advertising stuff?

Have you considered using the hall of fame for games played per day / week in addition to the in game reports?

Any written spam, excessive pings arent detected by the chat system, so would need a replay to support for actioning.

Is it possible to add a certain limit on how many times you can use the map pinging within a few seconds and then need to wait for a small cooldown to be able to do it again?

Yeah, I know it's implemented but it seems like it doesn't work.

at MAx graphic setting, game plays fine, but the program exits after the battle.

at High settings: i get kicked out of a battle sometimes, and the game closes every time i try to get back in.

my GTX 460 never had a problem before today's patch. what's wrong?

It's a problem with the patch, there should be a hotfix for it sometime.

I had the same problem too. My client exited in the middle of battle, tried logging in for four times and the client just shuts down during the loading screen. I think you can't get back into it until the battle is over. By the way, I doubt this is the right thread, so mods please feel free to move my post if needed.

I have a case where a teammate intentionally/accidentally took the anti-teamkill system to his advantage. He touched my tank right before hopping into the water and I had to pay 30,000 in fines which I was very unhappy about. From the replay it is blatantly obvious there was nothing I could do about it. Can I submit this to support or will it not be considered? http://wotreplays.com/site/1014483#lakeville-imaderpface-wz-132

Send it in to support. You won't get your credits back but the other person might get a ban for physics exploits if it's obvious they did it on purpose.

Might also want to remove the link to the replay as it could be classed as naming and shaming.
