Theme: Update 9.0
Requirement 5760 x 1080 JPG file
Concept:
Although many new features were introduced in 9.0, the emphasis of this wallpaper is on, but not limited to, the Historical Battle game mode. A monitor or screen was dedicated for each of the battles. Three historical battles, three monitors. Coincidence?
Left monitor - Battle of Kursk. The background is a screenshot of a HD model (also introduced in 9.0) of the German Pz.Kpfw VI Tiger up close along the railroad at Prokhorovka. Shown are the fine details of the HD modelling of WOT vehicles post-9.0 --- the scratches, the dings and dents, the details of the vehicle structure, and the doing away of those unsightly jagged lines on rounded edges.
Center monitor - Operation Spring Awakening. The background is a battle scene/screenshot in Erlenberg --- a Russian SU-85 (which took part in the Soviet counteroffensive) destroying an enemy German Pz.Kpfw. IV Ausf. H which was obscured by the improved explosions of 9.0.
Right monitor - Battle of the Bulge. Another scene from Erlenberg where a wolfpack of three American M18 Hellcats gang up on an enemy German vehicle (this time a Pz.Kpfw. Tiger II again obscured my muzzle blast and smoke) in the vicinity of the castle at the southwest corner of the map. Here can also be seen the mass of exposions and muzzle blasts at their finest.
Each screen was overlaid with historical battle maps. And for some educational value in history, short descriptions of the battles are included above the battle titles. Fonts, and their colors used, in titles were carefully selected to conform with the specific battle --- red Cyrillic/Russian sytle font for the Battle of Kursk (in the Soviet Union), red-black Germanic style font for Operation Spring Awakening (what the Germans called this offensive and their predominantly red and black WWII flag), and lastly blue distressed font for the Battle of the Bulge for the 'blue' in America's red-white-and-blue. The vertical edges of each monitor were lined with columns of the vehicles that are available for play in Historical Battle game modes, correct to the configurations (limited only by the information I had access to) and the camouflage at the historic period of the battles.
Spoiler
In the spoiler is a mock-up of how the wallpaper would appear on three monitors.
