I like it. It's like tank-specific XVM, only prettier.

Oh, wait, do I lose marks like WR, or do I keep them forever like Mastery Badges? If we can keep them forever, I may even rebuy old grind tanks just to get free decals on my gun barrel.

Wonder if we can mod the marks of excellence?

neat. i hope there will be more marks to be placed which is unique per tank if possible so that way a player will be more motivated to be better in a tank to gain it.

im so gonna play the tiger a lot after i get the chance to play again

also i think average xp should be included in the criteria cause if its mostly comprised from damage which something that tank destroyers medium and heavies can do better than spotting will make things get worse and instead of making the incentive of playing better it will give incentive to damage farming instead

If Average XP is to be included it should be "Standard" Avg XP (as in minus the Prem XP)

But overall, average damage is a good indicator of skill. Damage farming goes some way in helping the team win.

I like the rings on the barrel, the stars though... looks a bit 'trying too hard'

It just looks wrong...

(Unles there is historical precedent for putting stars on barrels.. iirc Russians put stars on the turret, not on the barrel...)

Edit:

I think stars are hard to see and don't look as nice as rings.

Why not have rings for all nations, just vary size/colors?

China: Red rings with Yellow borders to match the Chinese Army colors.

Russia, wide red rings with thin white borders

Japan, white/red/white rings (same width color bands)

Stars are very ugly, please change to rings :D

Great addition btw.

The German, British and France is pretty and simple. White ring and Black outlines but different in position that only British and France marks is similar in position.

The stars on the barrel is not right, it should be on the side of the turret. All tanks that has design (Stars, Axe and etc. except ring) mark should on the turret.

sadly in this server damage farming iare too often carried over with over campy or selfish behavior

Excellent. Must. Kill. Whore. More.

No, this wont change the way I play, but its pretty cool, so I approve. Hopefully not all my tanks get a single kill mark tho...

I don't know if the post on the portal was quickly updated, but it now indicates that spotting "damage" is included in the damage total. (Which is a very good thing.)

Unfortunately, this doesn't cover win rate at all, but perhaps something else could be introduced to bring that most important stat to the attention of the masses. I'm thinking that might be better done as some sort of emblem based on overall win rate (after a certain number of battles) that would appear on all of one's tanks.

All pre-9.5 tier I through VI tanks played and elited.

Doesn't have anything to do with kills.

I don't think it works on "average damage" as in the WoTLabs version, but rather on the "average damage" of the entire playerbase for a week, just like in Mastery Badges.

So account-wise, that would be Mastery Badges for top xp, Marks of Excellence for top damage, WNx for average xp/damage, and Eff for WR.

I like the idea but it favours people who can free exp all modules on a tank and not have to play it stock.

Someone who plays 200 games on an elite tank from the first game will have a higher avg damage than someone who started from stock.

Edit- unless it works how mttspiii said and works on a weekly avg then it would be fine

Don't really know how you could avoid that unless you only counted damage after the tank was fully upgraded but then people who may skip a useless module like final radio wouldn't get to show their shiny marks

XVM also favors people who can free XP all modules.

The difference isn't that big. On the tier IX u usually need about 100k to research everything and 250k to get the next tank.

Assuming that you only play x2 until you reseach everything and your average xp is ~1000 you only need 50 battles to fully equip the tank and then about 200 battles to research the next.

One of the better ideas that has come from WG.

Trying to see thing through your point of view, but I can't get my head that far up my butt.
