Internet traffic can be as frustrating as traffic jams.
And since they work in a similar way, referring to one you are familiar with can give you a better understanding.

For example...

You need to goto work..

You can goto google maps, and ask for a route plan. and then follow that route provided.

And then occasionally, you get to work late, due to traffic delays.

You can contact work, or ring your wife at home, or ring google maps, and yell at those three, but.. all three don't have much to do with your delays.

The issue could be you, so we can ask you some silly questions like, do you have a flat tire... to see if your delays are caused by you, but the likely cause is the route..

The issue is best solved, by checking the route you take... by getting the information of where you are.. where you are going, and checking for possible routes between you and where you are going, and then selecting the best route available which has the least delays at the time.

The above example, is the same for you using the internet.

We need your IP address (home location) which you can obtain from the internet from sites such as .. http://www.whatismyip.com/

We need your planned route, done by a tracert

We can then forward both of these pieces of information to our ISP specialists. who can then check the route you take from your house to the singapore servers by reading your route. And we can plan a route from the servers to your house (IP).. As this is a return trip and BOTH paths need to be checked not just one. As both paths are not always the same.

If there is any delays on the path to or from us,, we can then look for better alternative routes, and swap you to those routes if any better routes exist.

The main issues being that we have some players in the most remote places in the world internet wise AUS/NZ  (the countries with the most ISP issues). A lsland in the middle of nowhere.

.. And are surrounded by earthquake zones and fishing trawlers.

A diagram showing the AUS/NZ route a bit better is located here.

http://www.scienceme...3/pac-fibre.JPG

And then... with the streets / infrastructure within the region being limited. they are prone to holdups, For example, it might not be uncommon for you to be on a 120km/h freeway, but then get stuck behind a truck that's doing 70km's which slows you down and holds you up.

If the best route was planned for you at 12pm today, it doesn't mean that route wont have any holdups tomorrow, or even at 5pm later today.

The same if you planned a route from your house to work, which was clear, but then run into a traffic jam causes by a truck 5 hours later when you goto work.

So in short..

If you provide support a tracert, + your IP, preferably taken when you are having issues. (as its a bit hard avoiding traffic jams when the roads are all clear)
They will copy paste that to our ISP team who can check your route from you to us, and from us to you..... And check all other possible routes permitted by your ISP.
If there is a better route available that has less delays than the route you are currently taking, we can alter the route. If there is no better alternative routes available, then no other route can be chosen.

Instructions for tracert's

Tracert info

How to do a tracert differs for each operating system.

Please google how to do a tracert if you wish assistance there, or try this website.

http://www.wikihow.com/Traceroute

Tracert to

WOT SG: wotasia1.login.wargaming.net
WOT Aus: wotasia3.login.wargaming.net

Your IP
Grab your IP from any of the ip sites like http://www.whatismyip.com/

Submissions

Copy paste our tracert text, include your IP, and send through to support.

If you are on the best route from you to Singapore, then that will remain unaltered.

If you are on the best route from you to Singapore that your ISP allows, then that will remain unaltered.

If there is any better routes for lag and or ping, the better route will be chosen for you.

If there is any lag issues on cabling from you to Singapore, sometimes our ISP specialists will/can reroute you via USA, which will increase your ping, but bypass the packet-loss/lag.

There is lots of options for avoiding internet traffic.
All are best resolved by providing the tracert information requested above.

A nice step forward for the community, though you could probably put the example in a spoiler so people get to the important bits first. Maybe also change the title to something like "Experiencing connectivity issues? Read this first"

Tracert to

login.worldoftanks.asia

I might add, you need to amend the URL we need to tracert to include the ".com".

Its not ".asia.com" though mate, and the IP you are displaying isn't right.   [72.55.150.59]

The IP your trying to ping there seems over in canada. https://ipdb.at/ip/72.55.150.59

The two IP's I wrote are fine and work for me and other players.

Thank you for the informative post, this will hopefully explain some of the issues to those who aren't tech-savvy.

Interesting. The IP is coming straight out of tracert. In other words whatever DNS my PC is using is resolving that URL differently to yours and is not capable of resolving the URL you listed at all. Odd.

Flush DNS? It could be related to the same issue that I had.

Start by tracert the basics. Like google and other usual popular sites.aus sites Etc

When i tracert "login.worldoftanks.asia.com" i end up in canada too.

But that's not our URL try one of the two I provided or our servers current IP [92.223.16.37]

I tried tracert to just initial (no .com) - still couldn't resolve. I then tracert direct to the IP (92.223.16.37) and it worked. Having done that the tracert to the initial (no .com) URL started working. Either way, it might be worth including the IP addresses in addition to the URLs in case others are having DNS issues resolving the address. Anyway, none of this is particularly related... so can probably be ditched.

On another note that i'll file in the 'GJ WG/ISP/aliens' my ping tonight was at around 140ms. That's around 60 - 100ms lower than what it had been for AGES... someone fixed something somewhere. \o/

There is another .com URL in the OP as well as the .asia one, you haven't mentioned trying that one.

And id prefer not to put an IP in the OP, its not as permanent as the URL.

Good to see your DNS issues resolved and ping / lag reduced.

I'm using a cheap ISP myself at the moment. So my traffic goes.

Perth -> Melbourne -> Sydney -> Melbourne -> Perth -> Singapore. Sometimes.
Perth -> Melbourne ->Adelaide -> Perth -> Singapore at the moment.

Not sure why they need to route me all around AUS before back to Perth then over to Singapore.

But I have unlimited downloads, high speed net, so the bad pings/routing is worth it for me.

Mine went to Chicago before heading to singapore once.

That was great. About 3 second delay.

It goes to melbourne, adelaide, perth, then spends 2 seconds in singapore. *as of right now
