What's the server called?  And the problem is a server on the Australian/Pacific side of the WoT server dropping our packets to prioritise national traffic.

If you read through all the topics complaining about lag in Asia, a common factor is the one that passes through the route (equinix in SG) before going to the WG Slave server (either.37 or .47)

Also, when the playing population using the Asia server is below 12,000 players, things are good. But once it goes past that, ping starts dropping massively.

Right now, as of 9 AM Philippines time, 8,500 players at 100-110 ping.

1030AM - 12,800 players - Ping 280-300

1230 PM - 15,000 plus players - ping 400 - 450

This just shows that WG needs to do something about the traffic in the Asian server routes

I'm from Sri Lanka. For me its not affected by the player count, ping is consistently 300ms. Because now the route seems to go through Netherlands and AsiaNetcom.

The usual route was through Equinix and ping was around 70ms.

Also there were some occasions, it was through India and Singtel with 180ms-220ms ping.

Since WG is saying everyone that the problem is in their side, I haven't reported this to my ISP yet.

just a stab in the dark, but I think an unfair amount of grief is directed at WG Singapore...  If ya re read all the threads, you get to feel that the the issue mostly at hand here is the routing.   Is WG a customer as we are for internet traffic?  They host servers, sure, but then its up to the ISP's to then handle and perhaps direct the routing of the traffic...  Should the ISP equipment not be up to spec for the volume, and naturally packets can and will be dropped, how is that WG's fault..?

WG will have routers on their front end, all they do really is direct traffic to and from the servers.. once its left their routers back to us, its the ISP who handle, store n forward, packets..  should their switches / routers become overwhelmed, ie more data traffic is expected to flow but cant..  only so much water can flow thru a hose...  equals latency at the very least, dropped packets at worst...

So many people bemoan WG servers..    try taking a look at HOW your information gets to and from YOU and the server and back....  a whole lot of decisions are made for each and every packet sent and received...

Oh and the likes of Ping Monitor and other pinging software...   in the event that it uses ICMP theres a good chance that it'll ignore or drop your ping requests if the router is busy - thats just good setting up by the network engineer to drop unnecessary traffic load...

I am from Sri Lanka and my ISP is Sri Lanka Telecom.

Currently my ip is 124.43.149.34.

I am getting almost 300ms ping since 13th august.

Following is the pingplotter output and its a weird route which seems to go around the world.

Previously my ping was only 60ms.

Following is a traceroute I have taken couple of months ago.

  1     1 ms    <1 ms    <1 ms  D-Link.Home [192.168.1.1]
  2    27 ms    36 ms    31 ms  220.247.232.103
  3    35 ms    25 ms    24 ms  222.165.184.150
  4    56 ms    36 ms    24 ms  222.165.184.149
  5    32 ms    26 ms    24 ms  222.165.175.46
  6    31 ms    23 ms    24 ms  222.165.177.10
  7   244 ms   243 ms   240 ms  p9989.sgw.equinix.com [202.79.197.120]
  8   259 ms   285 ms   283 ms  xe-1-1-1.gw401.sg2.ap.equinix.com [27.111.222.107]
  9    59 ms    58 ms    67 ms  27.111.214.82
 10    59 ms    65 ms    59 ms  login.worldoftanks-sea.com [92.223.16.47]

I tried pinging to nodes in the route and found that p9989.sgw.equinix.com [202.79.197.120] node is not responding.

The submarine cable running from Hong Kong to Singapore became crap following the 9.0 patch. Supposedly, my ISP wouldn't route my connection from Perth straight to Singapore. I have to take a detour to Hong Kong first, sharing bandwidth with pretty much the majority of Asia server demographics around that area. With continuously increasing marketing exposure in said region, it can only become worse.

Ridiculously retarded.

Am in the process of switching ISP, since Slingshot still refuses to roll out UFB.

For info I think my issue was my WIFI. My PC is wired but something (possibly outside the house) was causing my issue by the look. Disabled some stuff, looks good ATM.

Sunday, Aug 24, 2014 6:00 PM (Hanoi,Vietnam) - Currently experiencing 100% packet drops going from FPT Telecommunications server in Hanoi, Vietnam at 118.70.2.173 to StarHub server in Singapore at 203.118.15.229.

Can someone tell me from the stats if it is something with my ISP FPT in Vietnam or StarHub in Singapore?

Hmm hard to say - with that 100 loss, and no ID of the device - hard to nail down.  it got to your ISP, perhaps their gateway? seems as they were forwarding the packets on to the Starhub...?

I could be completely wrong too..

Least your ping is playable - obviously packet loss is the concern!

Was getting 350 - 400 ping last night in a training room - hopelessly unplayable..   Premium account being frittered away..

If you route is going through TeliaSonera, you should get high pings. Cuz telia is an European ISP.

I think your ISP (PLDT) is the only one who can fix the route.
