I'm at work so can't hear the example, but I was also thinking of a cash register opening, that generic sound.

 

Edit: No tanks fire HEAT standard do they? As Tier 10 mediums + T71 Fire APCR standard

Simple solution to all your woes. Fire gold yourself. Because I can tell you gold is not 100% pen. If you're a scrub, gold won't pen too. :arta: If you're good, you'll know when your AP can pen and when you'll need gold - a critical strategy to earn credits in top tier pubbie matches. My little secret to earning credits even on a deathstar running full HESH.

 

Then again if you're a scrub you'd probably think EVERYONE is firing gold at you.

What if the target being shot at with gold rounds gets extra gold and xp based on the cost of gold rounds shot at it. Then WG would just say that the hardened tips / HEAT fragments on the gold rounds embedded themselves in the armor, so the crew just studied these embedded gold round fragments (thus the xp) and then sold them (thus the credits).

 

Yeah, it won't solve goldspam, but it would sweeten the deal for those who are getting shot at by gold.

Exactly what I was thinking.... I'd drive my newly-buffed 4502B (armed with the 88L/71 because its shells are dirt-cheap too!) whenever I need credits.

You're all better off crying for armour buffs like the VK got - not only has the horse well & truly bolted 2 years ago on unlimited premium rounds for credits, but buffs like that will make WG even more $ from that change. Also - who cares if skrebs are firing it at your tank if AP would pen anyway. More fool them

I'd actually like to see 4 types of ammo instead of 2 types of ammo, and two more expensive versions with roughly the same attributes...

 

AP:- Keep it working like it does.

HE:- Again, except remove the BS HP damage it does and increase its chance to do module damage. Maybe also add a "Crew Shaken / Concussed" status. Because 10.5cm Howitzers mounted on Pz IV's were not awesome Anti Tank Weapons...

HEAT:- Give it the same faults HEAT shells of the period did. They required a lower velocity because the spin of a rifled shell dissipates the focused jet effect. And yes, in RL fixed sometime in the 60's or 70's.

APCR:- Smaller damage, and loses pen at range faster then a AP round, because lighter (Sub caliber is smaller) projectiles lose kinetic energy faster.

 

So now you have AP, your "Go To" round for killing tanks, except when the tank has high armour, at which point (If you actually had the choice) you need to decide "Is it stationary or moving predictably at range, or just around the corner" HEAT / APCR, or am I just going to lob a cheap HE shell and annoy em?

I want to drive a VK 4502 B and laugh at the gold rounds bouncing off my lower plate.

 

It satisfies me.

I prefer the hard cap on the amount of gold ammo bringing into tank per match.

Ppl will thank twice when they wanna shoot gold rounds. They will hesitate to shoot.

Should I keep it for more heavier tank or TD I haven't face them yet?

and then sometimes you will not face those tank in the match, so the shots are not being fired.

 

This can really help easing the problem.

Uparmor everything. We've gotten from an HT-dominated gameplay to creeping increase in penetration over the past few patches. Now with gold rounds being "free", creep in armor on everything as well so that everyone uses gold.

The 1 and only thing that interests me about prem rounds is - who fired them before they were 'free'? Who actually paid direct $ for them?

I had like 2 gold rounds on 1 tank and that was it.

 

Now every tank I have (above say tier 7) has at least a 1:3 ratio of Gold:Standard

Players who 'spam' gold generally tend to not be stat paddlers, but scrubs with bad stats who think gold = auto penetrate. Padders will generally carry a healthy amount of gold so they can hurt targets that should have been taken out by their own teams high tiers but weren't because they are all huddled in the corner. People need to get over this fixation on gold being the only reason people win. It isn't. It helps good players still influence games in sub optimal tanks for the battles they are in, and it costs baddies lots if money and maybe gets them an pen they would have otherwise not got once every other game.
