Note to anyone who whines about arty:

Consider the above as being WG's likely replacement to how arty currently works...

EDIT:

Yes, it's an air-strike (rectangular reticle at start) and artillery barrage (round reticle at start).

Airstike is a run of shots from base of shot to top at begining, while artillery barrage is the bunch of random shots that lasts throughout.

Wait.. so it was both activated at the same time or.... one onto another? As in seperate consumable?

With all 30 players loaded with 1 arty consumable each?... I'm seeing an vision... I hear... so much raging.... and all those rage have... formed a little fluffy rainbow cloud...

All.... 30... players has the consumable each... oh gods..... the horror.

Resurrected, and battle ready.

They should make this a gold round option for spgs in pub battles. Don't worry, non-prem players would be able to purchase a strike for a small layout of 100 000 credits too.

If you watch carefully, you'll see the airstrike reticle (rectangle) disappears slightly before the artillery (circle), which indicates they are seperate events\consumables, but have been aimed at the same location. The fact you can see both reticles indicates it was the same player calling both events (I assume, based on the fact that you cannot see another players reticle in game).

The only issue I have with it is that there is a VERY small time difference between activation (reticle disappearing) and incoming fire. At least with standard arty there's a bit longer delay between the button being pressed and the shell landing. (Besides, what are the odds you'd have planes so close to the targetted area, lined up to bomb the instant you request a drop on a location?)

So another [redacted] mechanic around indirect fire?

What a shock.

And here I was thinking WG would've learned after 5 years.

LOL, yeah right.

So long, and thanks for all the fish

Looking at this its probably very relevant on our server to ask..........

What was the outcome of the investigation into the clan that had rigged up a few thousand stronk battles with its sub clan to get its tier 10 stronkhold?

Tan said that there were investigations, and apparently they weren't exclusively fighting their subclam.

So they played one or two against someone else?

WARNING!!! THE ABOVE POST WILL CONTAIN SARCASM. My day job does not allow sarcasm, so its use may be obscure and liberal.

Sarge: What a way to go. Killed by my own mechanical creations. I'm sure there's a philosophical lesson to be learned from all this.
Simmons: Something about the dangers of technology and the unwavering pride of mankind?
Sarge: No, something about hiring better help that doesn't just stand around watching you die!

I don't believe we should kill all the stupid people. Just remove some of the warning signs and let nature take its course...

How much resource box u need per use? If its expensive does it worth all the boxes to use it?

And only detachment commander can use it? If the detachment commander is dead can he still  use it?

Yeah, must have been about 2900 games against SVN-A (or whatever they renamed the clan to after they got found out) and about 50 against others when they missed the Q

SVN-A had like a 5% WR in Stronks.

Nothing to see here.

Oh and here is your tier 10 airstrikes and arty all bought and paid for via totally legit means!

There is nothing stopping other clans from doing the same thing if WG sets a precedent like this.

Please tell me that with WG's handling of:

  • account ownership transfer via outside sites
  • Clan wars campaign 3 investigation
  • IM rigging
  • forum posts regarding bannable mods
  • replays showing use of bannable mods

That these players and clans still haven't worked out that WG will take quick and effective measures against players conducting themselves in ways that breach competition rules or EULA for game.

What will it take to get the message through to these people?

I assume you guys switched from topic to SVN discussions. I didn't see any proof of their rigged battles, however, they do show up for fights, they aren't scared to fight back and they don't have their defense set at some ridiculous time like 80% of clans. And they don't have a level 10 arty or airstrike... yet.

Back to topic, this feature is really useful at high levels (8 plus), especially against heavy turtling, fast setups aren't that vulnerable.. But since almost no clans are willing to work on their strongholds upgrades to benefit from them in the future majority will only keep whining when CNC or CHE or SVN will use it on them :)
