The only surviving original A7V left in the world is the "Mephisto" which is at the Queensland Museum in Australia.

All other A7V's around the world are reconstructed replicas.

I was about to post the above too.

First tank on tank battle was AT7 vs British Mark IV

This was always my favourite A7V pic... dragging it through the front gates of the QLD Museum in 1919... other people bring home small keepsakes and souvenirs... QLD'ers bring home a tank!  :)

And for those of you who regularly battle peak hour traffic in Brisbane... that's Gregory Tce in the pic...

I remember being able to climb on 'Mephisto' at the Queensland Museum as a kid.  They've moved it to the Queensland Rail Workshops Museum now but is supposed to be back at the Queensland Museum this year.  Probably in time for the 100th Anniversary.

haha!

Interesting as to how it got to the Museum in the first place, like many museum artifacts/relics. It's hella ugly though and could be introduced to WoT as a tier 1 tog lol

Ah ha. So you know about the story of the mysterious "tank" that the Sydney Harbour Master could not get the Dept of War to pickup. When they finally sent an officer from Melbourne to investigate, the Harbour Master could not find it! I believe it was gifted to the people of Queensland by the members of the 26th Battalion. They themselves managed to get it shipped home (I think they were the City of Logan Regt) as a keep sake of their trials and tribulations. The 25th Battalion (Darling Downs Regt) was later merged into the 26th because the 25th numbered less than 50 odd survivors.

Sorry mate, I don't. But I studied a bit of Museum politics back when I was at university. Interesting though, today you'd never get away with that and to be honest it is a shame. 50 survivors is a massive loss.
