Hi all,

A new mod is being made currently by a RU modding group - it makes 10 top tanks more modern by adding such things as active armor, remotely controlled guns, smokescreen mortars and etc.

This mod only alters graphics and doesn't influence game-play.

The installer can be downloaded from the portal.

http://worldoftanks.asia/en/news/pc-browser/21/pimp-my-tanks/

Let us know your feedback please.

The list of tanks in the mod:

U.S.S.R:

1. IS-7

2. Т-62А

German:

3. Е100

4. Е50М

French:

5. Bat-Chatillon25

6. AMX 30B

U.S.A.:

7. Т57

8. Т110Е4

U.K.:

9. FV215b_183

Japanese:

10. STB1

Regards
Tan

Nice but seems they just strapped C4 onto the tank.

That's what it looks like atleast.

Actually.. you're not too far off the mark.

Modern armour configurations include ERA (Explosive Reactive Armour) which, as the name implies, are explosives being used as armour. They work by redirecting shaped charges.

I know how reactive armour works this just looks like cubes of C4 which frankly don't look right.

Actually nvm.

Its looks like the ERA is one with the Tank which looks werid.

not placed on it separately.

The ERA or reactive armour is designed to reduce the chances of major damage towards the tank and crew on the inside or to reduce the impacting damage (i cant remember) nice mod though, it makes tanks look modern

It only works for some types of shells though.

its supposed to explode when a shell hits it creating a blast going the opposite direction from what the shell is coming.

Good to hear. If feedback is positive, we will try to support them more.
Like putting it in our portal , useful software section of the portal, and then seeing if we can get more tanks done.

I think it will throw my aim off a bit.  I like to aim for certain parts on tanks, now I'm not sure but these models could mess up shots as I assume that the hitboxes are the same under the new model?

Damn!!!

You got my hopes up, thinking I could finally get my TOG pimped.

In true PIMP MY RIDE STYLE, imagine a SOLID GOLD paint job, 100" inch spinner wheels:teethhappy:, Billet Bogies, LOW PROFILE Pirelli P Zero tracks, 9000watt stereo, a couple of 50" plasmas, an XBOX for playing WOT, while playing WOT (Mind BLOWN).  Quad 8" exhaust pipes, a Honda Civic body kit and a GIANT WING for the rear.  Maybe some AIR RIDE suspension for some better depression angles.

"PLEASE MTV PIMP MY RIDE.":P

Vote NOW, to Wall up the Lakeville Valley Pass.

So Many Idiots.

So little Shells.

Yes, the hitbox's are processed by the server so there is no alterations there.

This alters what you see graphically on your client. So then it becomes possible for your graphics to not match the real hotboxes.

This is an issue when modders turn a tank into a motorbike with an Alsatian in the sidecar, like was done years ago. But shouldn't be too much of an issue with this mod.

Not that I am aware of, I believe the mod's graphics override ours (displayed on your client)

RAWR NOTICE THIS POST.

I HAVE YOUR ATTENTION? NOW READ!

Ooookay than.

Some of you are worrying about hit boxes? I see well this issue was addressed awhile back ago by some modders and WALLAH a new mod was born!

I forgot where it was or what it was called (I'll try to find it) but it only changes your own tanks model!!!!

I'm trying to find it ASAP

Will link it here. If I find it!!!

It was kinda complicated but I got it to work awhile back. Turned my E5 into a Challenger and all the other E5's were normal E5's :D

EDIT: http://forum.worldof...ce-and-for-all/

Everyone you're welcome!!!!!

+1 if this helped

I use this mod and I fully support it.

I would love to see tier 9 tanks remodelled as well.

I would love to see more tanks, other than top tier tanks get a modern remodel. Mainly the post WW2 tanks like the Centurion Mk.7/1, IS-3, T-54, M46 Patton, and mainly the Cold War era tanks.

P.S. 121 needs Modern Mod...

would be nice if they didn't alter the original skin and simply put-on stuff like spaced armor and ERA so that the original armor can be seen and shots can be based on those.

while the 183 turret looks nice with this mod, it's hard enough to penetrate, and will be even more so with this skin.

also, tried running the installer, but when I selected a folder that doesn't have WoT, it won't install there. so what if the game isn't there, it's a mod, that's how I manually check the mod before applying it.
