Dear Players.

We understand that most players thoroughly enjoy customizing their WOT client, which greatly adds to their enjoyment of the game, as such modding and mod availability will always remain.

Addon Mods offer a wide range of benefits, from changing in game sounds, installing Girls Und Panzer anime themes, Installing garages of the past and new player made garages, to providing some minor in game (localized graphics and interface) advantages, and many many other uses.

If you are new to modding, and would like to downloading some of these great mods without the risk of downloading unknown untrusted files or prohibited mods from the internet, we suggest you try out a more reliable source of WOT mods such as Curse.  There you will find the common and "player's favorite" mods which are often supported by the mod makers, such as J1mB0's Crosshair Mod, Aslain's XVM Mod, and many others.

*Note : Tournaments have their own mod prohibition lists (currently all mods are prohibited in tournaments) so please check the rules of the specific tournament before applying, to make sure what mod's you can use / if any in that tournament.

*Note : Some mod packs such as Aslain's XVM Mod, while mostly legal, may still contain some features which may be prohibited on this server. So please check the list below to make sure that what you are installing and what options you are installing is permitted.

Although all calculations are done safely server side so no major alterations can be done to the game mechanics itself.. Mods may adjust local graphics and user interface in such a way that a player may gain a small advantage. Some of these possible graphical/interface adjustments are deemed prohibited as they are either deemed an "unfair" advantage, or against the spirit of the game.

Discussion / linking to / promoting either directly or indirectly, mods which contain any of the above alterations within WG Asia communication channels (For example this forums), is also prohibited.

The above list is not exhaustive as hundreds of new mods are created every day and the rules still remain as ..

1. Marks tanks on the mini map with which direction their turrets are facing ... ETC

Its prohibited.

2.  Enemy Direction Mods (Spotted vehicle on aim circle only)
I have a screenshot for somewhere, I'll grab it..

3. A zoom out mod, just zooms out further than normally intended... which is nothing like 1&2.

Thanks Tan for finally coming out with a list of prohibited mods.

Now the compulsory question : How is WG going to detect the use of prohibited mods. And how to enforce it? Will there be any sort of punishment for using prohibited mods?

For clarification, gold league tourneys players are not allowed to use any mods and are checked by WG. Theybare also required to install some extra files from WG. Silver and bronze league are not checked by WG....and more lenient in this regard. You can use the legal mods in this league. However, this also leads to abuse where prohibited mods may be used.

But that means I can zoom out to see where the enemy turret around the corner is pointing?

Aye, will wait for the screenshot Tan.

Zoom out is ok as long as it is still centered on your tank.

Tan, hate to say it, but grabbing the outdated list from NA won't help.

Displaying the position of the other players that are not visible by the rules of the game visibility

  • Last known position markers

This is built into the Minimap function of the game, and is a quick change to the ingame settings. So how can you ban an actual part of the game the devs have incorporated.

This confused me also.

Everything else is as expected and agrees with the restrictions I've already been applying to myself regarding mods.

It never mentions the minimap. I believe it is referring to drawn shapes on the battlefield that physicaly represent last seen positions or a tank that is outside of your render range.

It is in need of re-wording / clarification for sure though.

It's regarding the Contour Outline staying in the game I think, not the mini map version.

I really do hope its sooner then later, it would be lovely to come back from sweden in august and not have to worry about all the bs that is going on.

Indeed, hence why we would like to see the gold league rules applied in other areas :)

and for the main question,

has this been translated to other forums yet.

Another 2 to put on the list.

  • Shadow mod that shows where tanks used to be in sniper mode.
  • Mod that tells you if you hit something even if it is not lite...makes a bell sound (used to have it so cause not sure if it is legal or not)
  • Also a arty mod that tell you how far you should lead a target like the lead indicator in WT arcade mod.

the more important question is, "Its not about identifying and naming which mods is illegal, it's more about how is WG going to enforce this malignant disease"
