This time 1 year ago 1pm AEST was a great time to play with fellow english speaking people, skip forward to now and most games there are none! I am lucky if 1 game in 3 has someone that speaks english! then chances are they are on the opposite team.

So where has everyone gone? new time slot? WoWs? new game?

Because this is no bloody fun at all at the moment!

My win loss is much the same, it's just being able to communicate and coordinate battle plans and a bit of friendly banter.

Vietnamese, well it sometimes it looks close to french but i don't speak that either despite my last name being french.

I'm just finding it very frustrating being an average player those game where i could communicate made all the difference even when win chance was low! now nothing.

My experience is that they understand but don't respond.

Well can WG introduce an option to enable/disable open voice comms in public matches with a language preselect option for the primary languages  on this server?

it would make it much more active and effective then typing comms or the very basic/unhelpful and often spammed preset comms?

Only times communicating works is within an english speaking clan. Standard pubbies are as good as doorknobs.

Sidescraping is a game mechanic abuse - TOG1R. PM ingame if you want to plat. Something crazy below this; Apparently Aussies are bad@tonks.

Thats true, the full Indian word is Thuggee, and where the French English word thug came from.

And "Drunk" is Germanic. So Drunk_Thug's a mix of Germanic and Indian.

So we have a Germanic-Indian Aussie complaining that he can't talk to the French-like Vietnamese, or anyone else, in the Asian server. It's like a setup for an elaborate ethnodiversity joke.

Vietnamese use French letters and way of spelling to write down their native Vietnamese speaking, kinda similar to how [Japanese] used Chinese writings.

Except that French writing represent how they are supposed to sound unlike English, so it's easy to read out loud Vietnamese/French writings although you may not know the meaning

LOL wut! French sounds nothing like the way it is written for eg. Champs Élysées [( shahn zay -lee-zay)]

English is far more phonetic than French!

The reason you may think that some Vietnamese terms are very close/similar to French terms is because they are. When we "invaded" Vietnam in the 19th century, the french language replaced the Mandarin/Cantonese Language in education and....other things..

Moved to Off topic.  As long as there is no discussion of political or social topics that could lead to unrest then a historical discussion can proceed.

I haven't had any problem with there being a lack of people that speak English.  Maybe that's because my clan is fairly full and has lots of English speakers

I'm pretty sure you don't speak French.

English is borrowed from a plethora of languages, that's why it isn't phonetic (think 'lingerie;)
