I hope most of you know this already but.... after seeing how my team mates play... sigh.
You know that "mini map" on the bottom right hand corner...
See it ?
If you don't see it then maybe you have pressed "m" and gotten rid of it?
if you have hidden it then please press "m" and get it back.
Next, See the "+" button?
the one on the keyboard?
you do?
Well please press that a few times and "MAKE YOUR MINI MAP BIGGER !!!!"
And then:
LOOK AT YOUR MINI MAP !!!
And...
LOOK AT YOUR MINI MAP OFTEN !!!!
And ...
When you see red dots on the mini map... THAT IS THE ENEMY !
Do try and respond to the enemy as appropriate and not just sit there in your bush wondering what is going on while a medium tank is behind you shooting up your arty.
Oh and .... sometime when people ping the map.... that means a medium tank is behind you shooting up your arty and maybe you can turn your turret and shoot them ???
Sigh, I feel like I should put this post into Google Translate and post it into the other forums !!!
Thank you all for listening to me raving and ranting, it was a pretty tough night.

I figure that if I have a 14 inch laptop monitor.. then the mini map might get really small and hard to see.
e.g. this is my mini map size:

Those who choose a way to go and get tunnel vision and go down that way until they get killed, not caring about the other side being open or getting flanked or anything, not watching the minimap.
Then there are those that start going one way and as soon as they see the red dot on the minimap it's "ooh, a red dot! must go to it!" and you suddenly have 5 tanks heading to a light tank that will probably run away.
Oh, and I guess there are those that actually use their brain and know where their tank is supposed to be and where it can help the team, and watch the minimap to make sure flanks are secure, etc.... but these players are way too rare on SEA and so not even worth mentioning.

Last night we had a 13 90 fall off the edge on lakeville and get stuck. 2 enemies then managed to fall on top of him also getting stuck. Not to miss out on the action our T54 decided to join the orgy of derp. Ahh the joys of SEA.
You can tell people to watch the minimap, but realistically when half your team has their heart set on camping base and will vociferously abuse anyone who suggests otherwise... watching the minimap is the least of your problems.

One of the last tanks left was an M18 hiding with arty.
Me: ping the map and say M18 please move up.
So he moved up a bit to the next bush.
Me: Ping maybe go there
he: nothing
me: Ping open flank
he: nothing
me: Ping Ping, watch out medium coming for arty
he: nothing
me: Ping M18.. medium behind you,
he: what?
me: Ping Ping Medium behind you killing arty
he: what? what? who? me?
me: ping ping, hey both arty dead now just turn around !
he: what ?
By this time the medium Pershing had killed both arty and was on the way to shoot him, so he gets shot in the arse... then he goes OMG there's a tank there ! and gets off one shot before he dies.
Sigh.
Spent whole game sitting there "guarding arty" then when the medium comes in he can't turn around a notice a tank 100m away killing arty?

When I was a Crew Commander in the RAAC we used a compass and a fold up map, well actualy the compass didn't work in the turret so we just used the fold up map, and that was usualy covered in mud and strawberry jam. Then our radios wouldn't work because they were left over US rejects from the Vietnam war, and we didn't have GPS or decent bino's. Then they would forget to resupply us so we would run out of Fuel, Food and Ammo all the time, but to top it all off my driver was useless and he would keep running into trees and tank traps at high speed and break my teeth and ribs.
Sigh, and you guys think you have it tough just because your mini map doesn't work.
