Hi kongman,

Are you kidding? I have been concentrating on the German tech tree since I started playing this game early September this year. However I have just started the Russsian one a couple of days ago. KV1 will be within my grasp in no time and I'll see what you mentioned hold any water.
I don't believe you know me although you know my fake name.

True, this tank was very easy to use, and can stand a lot of abuse (most of hit often hit the spaced armor, and also ricochet), and good MM (most of the time you will end in the top list or the middle), all you need to do is drive to the enemy and shoot, simple.

Nothing can describe this......

Unless there's American crew named Morgan Freeman

Looking forward to your reply.

The KV-1 is a very common yet very complicated tank, one does not simply drive to the target and shoot, you need to call atleast 1 team member to your sde any kind (light, medium, destroyer, heavy) and support each other, cause if you are alone and feeling bad ass.....well....the enemy will rape you......like what happened to me,Now I saw One of my epic battles that if you have atleast 5 heavy tanks to your side.....you are almost Invincible,we worked as a team and we moved together, that just goes to show you that if you have a pack of heavy tanks, you are unstoppable.   P.S.That depends on you team mates    (General Dexter)

KV-1, a reward for all the pain you endured in the T-28, as your enemies took pot shots at your large frame and decimated you mercilessly, laughing at the easy kill they got.

well, who's laughing now?!

took me awhile to get used to the KV-1, but it is certainly fun to watch as rounds plink off you while you blast them with either your 85mm or 122 derp gun

ThomChen, I totally agree with you on the painful T-28 experience. I use my KV-1 alot and I'm near to get it to elite status now (yup, researched almost everything).

My opinion on this tank:

1) Do not go solo. You can easily get flanked by light/medium tank. Note that the turret transverse speed is very low. I like to kill solo KV-1 with my PzIII. I circle them and shoot, their turret can't chase me. I found that it's tracks can be easily get shot to critical, so better make sure you have backup supports.

2) You should move together with few MT/LTs. All you need to do is just move towards (not too close) and take enemy fire(use this against same tier or lower tier battles), while your MT mates shoot from behind. Angle your tank nicely, and you can often get the Steel Wall medal for taking more than 11 hits and survive.

3) When you get the 85mm gun, your kill count will go up alot.

4) You can sometimes paired into battle full of Tier 3/4 MT/LTs. These battles I usually score 2 ~ 3 kills, sometimes 4 ~ 5.... rarely less than 2.

5) Try not to get shot at the rear. Try to not face your frontal armor perpendicular to enemy fire.

6) it's a simple tank even for noobs, and to me it's a real money maker. I use this tank to gather $ for me to buy german tanks. Although I researched the T-150 and KV-1S, I haven't spent the money to purchase them. I have also trained my crew from 50% to about 97% now

Given a choice to choose between Pz4 and KV-1 (both tier 5), I'll take KV-1 anytime.

The KV-1 is an amazing tank. The battle record I had yesterday proves it, though I'm on a premium account, take note that I don't use gold rounds. For the record this KV-1 has everything fully upgraded, but I'm not using the derp gun. I prefer the 85mm, its more accurate:

Xiee, you have premium account and the experience shown is X2 (first victory in the day). Anyways, a standard account KV can easy gain more than 500 exp. Ocassionally, if you're the highest tier in the battle, like the one you shown, you can do 4 ~ 5 kills and get 1000+ exp.

And, yeap, I also prefer the 85mm.

Like I said, I'm not pointing out the experience on a premium account. I'm pointing out at how good playing the KV-1 is. Premium or not, the point is, this tank is great in the hands of someone who knows what they're doing.

I had a lot of success with the 57mm. Rammer, vents, GLD, crew 100% BIA. More than 30 rounds a minute of decent pen accurate fire. Win rate in the mid 40s on the grind up to the 85mm, I saw someone dissasemble the other team with a 57mm after I died one game. Tried it and magic happened. Ended up at nearly 60%, close to 70% for the time running the 57mm the second time.

Accurate, but the rof is what seemed to hurt people. Getting hit every 1.9 seconds or so seems to throw off peoples aim and they would panic. In the time most tanks shoot once, I could track them and put two through a weakspot. Got a lot of critical hits through sheer volume of fire as well. Also great for farming sniper medals.

Individual mileage may vary, but I enjoyed the 57mm experience.

i agree (and laughing)..

after so many heart-stopping battles with the T-28 (wondering when im gonna die everytime), I was rewarded with a battle-efficient KV-1 with 85mm F30 gun.. but I was also a bit fraustrated with the KV-1's speed - again, I learned how to play and deal with it.. now that I got the KV-1S, it's pretty balance (in both speed, armor, and fire-power) playing it...

just bought it today (after free XPing from t-26 all the way up) and free XPd the turrent, tracks and 85mm.

I've played pretty much just brit, german and american up until now, but this thing is pretty damn fun - steel wall in first battle. It could really do with a crew trained in repair, though.
