First of all, I'd appreciate so much if this thread was moved to a better subforum because I'm confused whether to post this in Tanks Throughout History or Soviet TD.
When reading stuffs about tanks on the Wikipedia, I was suddenly reminded and got curious again about the ASU-85. It's an early 1950s design and was put in service from 1959.
Seeing the Kanonenjagdpanzer (And after this Ill refer to as KaJaPa) which was put in service much later in 1965 and also put in as a premium tank, I personally think that it is plausible if WG considers adding this tank one day as one, maybe a tier 8.
Compared to its potentiall rival the KaJaPa, I'm imagining that this tank would have a camo value as good, and slightly higher DPM than KaJaPa to compensate its lack of alpha (by convention, high tier 85mm guns would do 180 compared to 90mm's 240). However, it'd suffer in uneven ground from its -4,5 depression. Armor would not be so relevant for either tanks, but from what I read, I think the ASU-85 might be slightly better protected.
About the guns, I can picture its standard penetration value inflated to like 220+ since premium tanks no longer have preferential MM, in the same way that KaJaPa's gun having 238 standard penetration despite it using basically M46's gun.
Well, that's what I'm thinking if the ASU-85 would ever enter WoT as a premium tank. What do you guys think?
