For the past several days, me and a couple of other players based in Brisbane, Australia have been getting high ping, intermittent packet loss and the occasional drop out.

What used to be an average of about 130 ms of latency now fluctuates between 170-300 along with a hefty serving of sporadic lag.

Here is a typical trace route we get to login.worldoftanks.asia:

I should point out that we're all with the same ISP (iinet).

I'm hoping some of the helpful techies here might be able to interpret what exactly is going wrong with the last few jumps.

I'm in Adelaide with iinet. Last few days have been higher ping for me too. Its only fluctuating between 150 to 180ms, which im OK with. With the broken cable over Christmas I was playing with 250 to 300ms.

But I can't play with what I assume is some sort of packet loss. It's jerky as all hell. Totally unplayable.

I can attest to the following:

1. it is not just Brisbane (I live in Brisbane).

2. Multiple ISP's are being affected.

3. Even using WTFast does not correct it for me - and this usually is the best fix when it is a routing issue.

My hypothesis is that we are seeing a problem at the WG Server inter-connect or an actual server

Its not a ping issue, it's a server issue. Last night during WGL training both TE and Meltdown had good ping but the server was laggy as hell. Both teams with players from Korea to Australia had to stop training as we could not control our tanks.

Hi Bol, perceived server lag can also be from the network connections due to packet loss, pingplotter results will show if that is an effect as well.  If they are clear then the server can be a focus, but in general if the server itself is lagging then a large section of the users will be affected.

It was server lag. When there is 15 people unable to control their tank on different connections then it's not just an individual. As much as I hate to follow the band wagon on Facebook, since the KR merge there actually has been significant issues with the server lagging out for many many people.

In that case raise a ticket with Customer Support and include a replay link so the battle time can be referenced against any event logs.

FYI even with the new users onboard the online population has only been just over 21K which has not been a problem in the past.

@WG

There seems to be a definite problem, my Clan suffered almost total server lag last night during a CW battle, most of my team couldn't move, we are a all-over Asia clan, I am in China, so I don't think it's a local ISP problem..

Today I have had problems logging in in (server not found) and have disconnected 2 during games, funny thing is that my ping-plotter trace doesn't show and interruption of the data flow to the WG servers ?

Is this a CLIENT problem ?

The client lost all connection at about 10:11 , I could re-log-in to see the end of the battle though, /we won ..

EDIT: Lol whilst writing this, "connection to the server has been lost"  Secong ping-plotter trace included

EDIT2. Sorry didnt read the full title.. but it's still a problem even if I am not in Brisbane!

Widespread player issues do not *guarantee* it is a server issue per-se. It could be an inter-connect or the first hop for example as they are used by all clients. In this instance though ping plots are looking normal. My software registers packet loss as well.

What I cannot do effectively with my current setup is trace the differences through WTFast's network to assess that.

Lodging a ticket is the way to go. I've been down that path and had contact with Tanitha and others on the tech side for previous issues to identify and resolve routing issues.

Wasaabi, the majority of us making these posts obviously have a degree of technical knowledge (and some a great deal with regard to digital communications). I would like to quietly suggest it gets very frustrating to have the same "not our fault" line farmed out each time there is a concern and where a number of complaints of similar shape and different jurisdiction are being made. WG has some very powerful tools for network analysis including 3rd party companies that specifically analyse and manage your routing for good performance. Putting the issue back on customers at each step is disappointing :).

This is happening on my NBN connection in Brisbane. I know its not my ISP because Internode (what little is left) still have a reputation for reliability.

Same Brisbane, bad ping, normally +/-140, regular spikes to 700-999, 1 x dc. going to try alternative routing with [edited].

Most likely a server issue as everyone i platoon with has been getting the same issue. Lag spikes especially when firing/stopping, is very indicative of server problems.

Actually I've just noticed it today, for the last two games (about 20 mins ago). Mind you I wasn't playing this time last night so couldn't say about yesterday.
