Well done mate. We all start somewhere - stay positive, seek feedback from good players and you'll be getting a lot more of those in the future :)

Well done.

Everyone starts at 1.

And here's hoping for more to come! :izmena:

Good Luck!

When an enemy Arty "one shots" 2 of your teams' heavies and you're in a heavy tank, you know you're screwed.

A heavy tank should have armor and a big gun, if you don't have either then you're not.

I guess you positioned yourself in a good spot and dealt 1k damage in total. So great work. Now you might want to think and decide what kind of player (class that you want to focus on) you want to be. Like do you want to play mainly tds as your "primary" class and maybe hts as your "secondary" class etc. Because, the skills to play each class is different imo. Eg. If you are going to main tds, then you have to know where the chokepoints and where you can support your team from a difference. Also bush mechanics and camo skills for your crew etc.

Congrats on your first Ace Tanker!

Congrats mate! Though it'll start getting harder as you go up the tiers so there's more challenge for you there :) keep on tanking!

Thnx for all the positive feed back.  Im not to sure whether I should stay with this line of TD or not.  I have been researching it and the later tiers seem to change a lot in that they have a siege mode which does look interesting.  Also when should I move up to the next Tier?.  I see there is 3 master badges you can get for your tanks so should I wait till I have all 3 in this tank then move to the Tier 4?.  Also my crew is 100% and their skill is at 50% maybe I get their first skill to 100% before I use them for that next tier?.  I'm  reading up about the camo and spotting, watching some videos as well.  Its a bit confusing but I will get my head around it.  As for playing another class I think maybe I would try heavy tanks.  Id have to read up on them and decide which line to take but someone did say to start with Russian line.  It would be very different to TD play because you are up front in all the rage and heat which does appeal to me.  This game I thought was going to be like most shoot em up games but actually is very complicated with all the different armors and shells and classes.

Russian heavies are a good call.  It's not until tier 5 that you get a heavy but the KV-1 at tier 5 is a sweet spot to learn armour mechanics and brawling skills so get there and work that until you feel confident.  Try all the guns out as well.  The 85mm is the best option but some people like the machine gun rate of the 57mm and others play only with the 105mm derp gun.  It will give you a good feel for the different gun options on other lines as well.  It's a good (and quite forgiving) learner tank.

The Swedish TDs are interesting.  The tier 6 and 7 are closer to the IKV-72 than the 4 and 5.  You can run the 4 with the tank gun rather than the derp (HE) gun so it would be more familiar but the tier 5 has only HEAT and feels very different.

The higher tiers are a way off so I wouldn't worry about them for now.  Rushing up the tiers before you have the basic mechanics under control can be a disaster.

Thanks Conan - (Insert Eggplant here)

Very refreshing to see a new player trying hard to learn the game mechanics. If you want to I'm happy to jump onto Teamspeak (or just tell you via chat) to explain camo & spotting etc to you in a training room.

As for continuing the line, I would suggest leaving the Swedish TD line for now, and instead go up the Russian heavy tank line and stop at the IS until you can get 55%+ win rate at tier 7.

Yep WoT is far more than "shoot tank in face". The game is 80% strategy (knowing where to go, when to fall back, when to push, etc), 10% positioning of your tank when facing others,  5% driving skill, and 5% shooting skill.

55% in a tier 7 tank @@ I can barely average that after 30k games hahah

btw OP, I'd be willing to help you out as well if you want to know how to use certain map positions and stuff. Just find me in game or you could try applying for MGM ( Metal gear mercenaries) where there are other decent players as well :)
