Not in Perth, routing still through east coast so it's better, but not fully fixed here yet.

From Telstra today in response to my question about prolonged routing issues :

 

'There is currently a cable fault with one of the segments of SMW-3 and repairs have been delayed due to weather. Updates indicate that these repairs are expected to be completed today and the routing should return to normal if no further issues with that route are found'

 

Hopefully end is in sight and ping will be sub 100 again

We often have enough power to change your routing for you. But we cant fix cables.

So feel free to send through a traceroute to support for us to look into, and we will try to help with your routing..

 

As for Telstra..

The cable is managed by a company called Vocus.

Their info is here. http://status.vocus.com.au/view-incident.aspx?IncidentID=349

And the cable is repaired.

 

Feel free to inform Telstra that the cable is repaired.

Yes I am aware that Vocus owns SMW3.  I have already gone back to Telstra support querying their assertion, their reply is  'I can see in our systems that there is a segment of SMW-3 listed as being repaired which was delayed due to weather. I cannot comment regarding Vocus.'
 
Sigh.
 
Anything you can do to help expedite the re-routing would be appreciated.  Tracert attached
 
PS is there any news regarding the recouping of premium time from before the cable cut?

Perth routing still not corrected.

 

I've gone back to Telstra technical support again who said today they have rechecked and:

 

'According to the information that is available to me SMW3 is still faulty and repairs are still underway.'

 

Is there anything you can do please ?

Well it was ok for a while now I'm getting insane lag spikes again.

If this keeps up for more than a day or two I will miss out on grinding my WZ111-5 during then Chinese tech tree thinggy :(

Finally Perth\Singapore  direct routing is reinstated and my ping has returned to 50/70
