Is there anything you can do to stop higher tier p....s using you as cover, not only blocking your retreat but actually pushing you out to take the hit?

Stop being in front of them.

That means, you shouldn't be there.

When an enemy Arty "one shots" 2 of your teams' heavies and you're in a heavy tank, you know you're screwed.

A heavy tank should have armor and a big gun, if you don't have either then you're not.

While there are occasions that will see some brain dead shoving you around or out because he can, there will also be occasions where you bopping around in front of your top tier heavies ineffectually plinking at the enemy and stopping your own team from positioning and shooting well actively hurts your team.

If you are getting shoved a lot, I am picking you are positioning your tank badly, and preventing your team from positioning well occasionally.

If you get shoved, ask yourself, is the tank shoving me much better situated to be in this corner than me? Am I actually getting in his way and stopping him hurting the enemy while I am not hurting them myself (or not hurting them as well as he could be)

If the answer is yes, give him the corner and support him.

Sure, but I was under the impression LT's go out and spot - engage, wait for the cavalry and the retire and look for something elsewhere - not just have the cavalry roll in behind you and not even give you the opportunity to retire!

If there are top tier heavy tanks behind you pushing your light tank out while you are attempting to take shots at the enemy, something, somewhere has gone terribly wrong.

If they are already behind you then, you should've left that spot earlier and leave the brawling to them.

Cheers!

welcome to World of Tanks!

welcome to Asia server!

where team-based game is actually solo in random battles.

-you want spotting? do yourself!
-you want cover? use anything! no matter what.
-you want to win a battle? do it yourself!

one thing to keep in mind :
never give orders or rant about anything if you don't want to get reported.

regards,

~GANz

Generally if your heavy tanks are behind you pushing you out, you aren't actually spotting. Sometimes people might push you out so you go forward more to spot due to language barrier. If they are blocking you while you are heavies, it may be because you aren't in a tank that is useful at that position. Sure, those that push you out because they are bad should be reported, but sometimes people get in your way and if you are a bad mood then stuff happens.

Hmmm, I'm just wondering if it because I am such a low rated tanker.....

I managed a 48% avg win/loss over the last 7 days (500 battles) so I am improving bit by bit. Still don't have 6th sense on any of my crews but a couple are close.  I even researched my first Tier VII - Tiger 1 - she's no brawler (died in a lot of battles with 0 damage done before I worked that out) but does work as a mid/long range sniper and managed to do 2000 damage in a standard battle when hull down then trundle along and help clean up at the end.  The Tiger certainly seems to be a shot magnet.  If I lead the charge (lol at a trundle) all the enemy seem to concentrate on me.  I've never been hit by so many different tanks all at the same time.  I eventually die but my team seems to mop the enemy up as a result!

With my LT's, given I am not a great shot on the move I have been experimenting with looking for and charging at holes in the enemy lines and taking out the arty (then dying since all the enemy seem to come rolling back to take me out).  Interestingly my team wins the battles where I have successfully taken out at least 1 arty early in the match.

We were in a battle with you on our side the other day.  I have no idea what you did or how you played or even if we won the game. You can thank me later for this helpful feedback.

Happy to help.

Well I don't appear to have p...ed you off (or you would likely have remembered) so whatever I did it can't have been too bad :)

If anyone sees me in a battle - I am quite happy to take orders (I've already noticed some people give orders directly to me so I have been following those - where I notice them).  I would love to play this game on a 40" screen but the wife won't have it :)
