It is pretty much game "B" here.

YOLOs are often punished easily here in pubs.

The meta here is "TD" mode in almost all kinds of players in pubs regardless of what kind of tank they are driving.

When an enemy Arty "one shots" 2 of your teams' heavies and you're in a heavy tank, you know you're screwed.

A heavy tank should have armor and a big gun, if you don't have either then you're not.

I rerolled recently from NA and found it much better.

1. The ping was much better (AUS East) compared to NA West (180 down to 100) - I could start hitting shots that I couldn't do on NA

2. Ranked, Clan Wars and Skirmishes were viable at normal hours and with a much better ping than US East

3. Better use of in-game comms (and much fewer people telling me to kill myself after a game)

Should point out the transfer is a one-way trip too.

Good luck trying to go back to NA if you change your mind... many have tried, none have succeeded.

  • Our 'on-site' events are much less common

Only for AU/NZ. Not enough players and far too spread out of a population for events here.

KR/JP/SG/PH etc get a fair few gatherings since their population is so dense.

any transfer option from asia to EU ?

In the moment when I truly understand my enemy, understand him well enough to defeat him, then in that very moment I also love him.

more than 400 new vehicles are still planned for World of Tanks

The current transfer offer is only for players residing in the APAC region that wish to transfer from NA to ASIA due to the consolidation of NA's servers that may affect APAC player's pings. So, it has nothing to do with players already on ASIA.

There are still SG players?

I'm estimating 1000 active players remaining.

1000 players concentrated in a small island makes it easy to cater for their events. Heck, occasionally players from MY spill down south for their events, and vice versa.

Don't swap.
I was playing NA when we got the chance to go to Sea. I made the move and regretted it ever since.  The game play here is PTW. With tons of prem ammo spammed all the time at all teirs.

From the noise on other forums 'p2w' isn't a SEA specific issue.

But yeah, ping is the main selling point. If you want to taste ~100ms ping, you don't have a lot of choices from east coast AU.

Hotel California.......

Ping is usually 120 from Sydney on ADSL2+ [except when the cable sharks are hungry].

One thing I forgot to mention about ASIA server.

We have a really bad tendency to attract sharks to our cables... :sceptic:

If your ping is the same on both servers, stay in NA.

Nonsense!

I live in WA and get 70 ping to SEA server.

Been waiting for this moment for 4 years. Stuck on NA without being able to xfer and take part in CW. Now the opportunity is here for players in NA.

Before i commit though what is the population like? Average wait time for t10's etc? Average server population at around 7pm-10pm AEST?

The population has never been below 10k when I played on SEA server.

NZ player here. I found the pings were about equal from here to NA and the Asia server, but I also joined because of CW.  But its still pretty awkward timing wise. While NA  CW is early afternoon for us, Asia CW is late evening. It meant that the clan could easily end up with battles that are after 1am here.  So, given the choice, I'd probably go back to NA if I could given that it also has a larger player population.

In an ideal world, we'd have a unified server comprising of all accounts from NA/Europe/Russia/Asia, with sub-server selection for pug matchmaking like the West/East distinction on the NA server. Then, we could potentially have a grand CW map of the entire globe, with CW on a 24 hour rotation, and the battle server selected depending on the area on the battle map that you want to attack.  Then every player would potentially have an area on the map that was convenient for them to go for, it was just a matter of finding a clan that operates in that zone.

That would be dependent on total players by time zone... so i'm not sure NZ would have a great deal of map to work with.
