No idea, I remove the files manually.

C:\...worldoftanks\res mods and C:\...worldoftanks\mods

As you've learned "Safe Mode" is the best way to ensure vanilla only files are loaded

Same, the quality of life in the garage is awful without XVM

It has been confirmed by the XVM developers:

 

- The error of XVM crashing the game has indeed been caused by the anime tanks

- There will be no fix for Asia server 9.20.1

Ah there you have it. Anime tanks...... shouldn't have added it in the first place. Now we have to play the game for without xvm until the next patch. Stupid anime tanks

 

Gonna stop playing until this issue is fixed.

I installed the new webiums modpack and it crashed the game, so took it off and the plain vanilla game loads no problem. Some things need more working on. Seems a bit strange that anime tanks are the culprit, and stranger still that WG wont fix it this patch, But still WG have a finite number of staff to do a whole heap of work in the next week, so I can wait.

WG are running 2 different versions of the game: 

1. ASIA region

2. Everyone else

 

It's not the anime tanks per say, it's the fact they are ASIA server only. 

This makes the Asian server carry a slightly different version of the game than the other regions.

Thus causing the compatibility issues between the Asia server and XVM.

 

WG do not develop XVM, therefor it's not their problem.

 

XVM dev team go largely unpaid, and do not have the resources to write a separate, region-specific version of XVM.

If we are lucky they will work on incorporating a fix for 9.20.2, in about 2 months time.

 

Until then best let any of our potential US server migrants know to be aware; XVM is no longer available on the SEA server.

The game is not broken, a third party modification does not work with the Asia version. 

 

Go an complain ain’t to the XVM team (who are also all unpaid) that their product does not work. 

 

On a a personal note, I think it is awesome that XVM currently doesn’t work, IMO it’s fixed the game. I have noticed much less arty focus.

Estimated to take 2 months for a region specific fix. That's fine, xvm isn't really necessary, but a lot of useful mods are borked too; spent one game unable to fire at all.

And I'm still not convinced that arty xvm sniping is an actual thing, but maybe it does happen, in which case it would account for some arty players' low damage output for that game.

Interesting.  The people I was playing with last night found they were getting plenty of focus.  Somewhat confirming my belief that alot of claims about XVM focus from arty are just because good players are aggressive and lit more often.

Sconqs are particularly juicy for arty so don't be surprised if you get focused in one of those.
