This game is like a drug - bad for mind and body, but can't stop. Quit while you're ahead.

I'm a simple person - If you don't dare to upload your replays, I assume you downloaded your skill

Hi and Welcome to WOT.

A few quick pieces of advice to be AWARE of early in your Tanking career......

Don't be Enticed into Buying into end game content.  (As in a Tier 8 Premium, which will feature in Tier 10 matches and bring you Tears as you have not developed the Skills or Tallent to perform at that level.)

Take your time and work through the Tiers, developing your skills as a player and in your crews.  (100% trained crews make a hell of a difference to how a Tank plays)

Be aware that Even though you are in a TEAM, your TEAM rarely plays as a TEAM and will leave you out to dry.  (Don't expect your team to be fighting for the same Goals as you, and you will enjoy the game more)

While there are on the surface of it "HISTORICAL Tanks", they don't enjoy the "HISTORICAL" Reputation or Attributes their IRL versions shared.  (Legends like the Tiger 1, Shermans, Hellcats, T34's won't meet your Expextations based on IRL events.  Be aware!  )

Be aware that even if you think you're a TANKERY GOD, you're NOT, and by that I mean that when you get killed it's not because the ENEMY Team is full of HACKs and Cheats.  It's more likely that you made a mistake and were exposed or got caught out by a mechanic that takes time to understand and master.

Don't be afraid to ask for help, but more importantly take the advice given and don't assume you are always right or that those trying to help you are wrong.  Remember, Respect works both ways and by the same token Humour can also be taken for abuse.  So tread carefully until you get to know the various Forumites.

Have fun and read over the forums for general Hints and tips on this the game.

Good luck.

Hey mate.

Best thing to do is have a look at some guides to get you going on the right path. things like:

Might be a good start.

Fruity's equip guide found here:

Is also very useful.

Try to get on to some of our streamers. I would suggest Saffee and Val, but there's quite a few good contributors. You will likely find one that best suits your tastes.

Both of the above are good tankers, watching them will give you good insight into how a good player thinks and reacts.

Hope you enjoy your time in wot :)

Go for the KV-1, the T-34 and the T-67.

Should give you a good entry into the game where you have a decent tank to learn the required skills.

Hello and welcome.

As everyone else has stated, don't buy premium tanks etc yet.

A good idea is to play a variety of tanks I would recommend:

StuG III G, tier 5 german TD

KV-1, tier 5 Soviet HT

T-34, Tier 5 Soviet MT

M4 Sherman, Tier 5 US MT

Don't be in a rush to be "pro" it takes time and effort.

Try sites like:

for stats

for guides

and youtubes like Quickybaby for gameplay when you get a little more skilled

Really there isn't much for me to say as Inglorious and Spacewolf have covered it all
