WN8 expected do get updated now for 'meta' tanks etc.. There was a time when they got lazy and went with one expected for each class tier combo, but that would have required WG to understand balance for it to work, so they reverted to having individual expected values.

 

And yes, wn8 is a damage metric, not about ability. Which is why it will remain secondary to win rate. With the light example highlighting how broken wn8 is. Play well, spot lots, win. Wn8 meh. Sit back and damage farm from distance, spot for little, win/loss less of an influence, but a wn8 thru the roof.

A premium account is the exact same thing all free to play games have, something which makes it easier to grind the in game economy and give you bonuses over non paying players in regards to grinds. 

 

Almost all free to play are indirectly Pay2Win in this respects, since it is quite literally the financial model of free to play games. 

 

Once you get to directly pay2win with overpowered premium tanks, that is when you go beyond the free to play experience and instead just get pay2win which has been the downfall of a games, like EA's SW: BF2 which was both pay2play and pay2win. 

 

 

Think about it. A lot of the monetisation in world of tanks is to do with saving time. What you are doing is saving time, not paying to win. Then they bring out things like the Defender which also makes you win more, which is just pay2win.

Defender are soft p2w too. You still need skill to be uni in it. Its something like gold/food, does giv you direct advantage ingame, but you need skill to use it. Stuff like map awareness, positioning, something like that.

Proper way to keep the game afloat is to reduce the skill floor to perform for avrg and below avrg player. Im not sure making the map more open will do that.

There are plenty of TX matches I play where I fire zero gold.

 

That's true for both T8, t9, AND TX tanks. Though, I think I hold off too much on firing gold in my TXs. There are definitely some situations I should mash the 2 button ASAP, but I spend a shot or two still trying to hit yellow-chance weakspots.


LT-playing masochist. It's too much fun to be a mosquito.
