Hi all.

I have been playing World of Warships for a few years and I just noticed that WoT has Aussie servers? Or trial Aussie servers? Or something?

I'm in Brisbane.

When another large game company started Aussie servers it was awesome to go from 300-400 ping to 40.

Thought I would play some WoT to support Aussie gamers and hopefully hold on to an Aussie server.

(Wish we could get a 'ships Australian server - even a trial!).

Questions:

Is the Recruit a Friend system like in 'ships? (And how might I get such a RaF code if it works same way?)

Premium/RL money tanks - WoT seems to have specials on for pay tanks, same as in 'ships. I usually like all play styles in games I play. What's a solid choice for a premium tank if I want to take advantage of the specials and support an Aussie server?

Are those Aussie tanks fun?

Should I buy one of them?

Greetings from another Brisbanite.

Yes there is a recruit a friend system here as well. This one was sent to me in DEC to get people playing on the Aus server. It includes the tier 4 Aus tank.

Invite code: WGAUSANZ17

Not sure if it still works however if it does let me know, and I'll send you all of the extra codes that go with it as well.

NB: Unless you've played the game before I can't recommend you play any prem above tier 6, as inexperienced players above tiers 6 are really just a liability to the team. (sad but true) Theirs just to much going on for newer players to be able to cope with it all. Especially as crew skills play such a big part in the game here and it's infinitely more difficult than the captains perks in WoWS.

TBH I'm at almost 4k games now and I'm still learning every game.

If I'm on at the same time let me know, and I'll happily platoon up with you.

Good luck Max.

Stick to the low tiers until you get an understanding of the game

I've sent a message straight to you with all of the codes, missions, starting info etc, and the web page links as well on how to do it.

Cheers

WoT has a serious learning curve. I would recommend getting a regular tank of each tier before buying a premium. I would however recommend getting premium account to boost your income or else you'll find yourself short of credits. As for the Aussie Tanks, the tier IV Sentinel is bad and the Tier VI AC 4 isn't a good tank for a new player, so in answer to your question; no you shouldn't buy one yet. If you really want a premium tank I'd say stick to tier V and below. The Pz.T25 is nice but otherwise their aren't many good premiums for new players.
