Okay, this one I don't really need a review on, it was very sloppy play and not a particularly good game from me and I knew that even as I was playing.

No, I'm sharing this one simply because I think I must have made this one Skorp G who was facing me just apoplectic with rage. Check this out and just watch how many times RNG blesses me with free bounces against the Skorp: http://wotreplays.eu/site/4304408#abbey-framframson-edelweiss

It's absurd. He should have had me cold ten times over.

So, not really asking for full on tactical advice here because I wasn't alive long enough for my gameplay to really develop this match.

Anyway, I was sidescraping and obviously I got punched full of holes. Part of the problem was I was over angling thus reducing the effectiveness of my pike nose, but even after I lessened the angle I was still getting punched through and I just want to know - is that ladder and debris actually purely decorative without a collision model? It seemed like it was blocking my shots when I was in the tank trying to aim (you can see it masks the enemy silhouettes), so I didn't try to shoot through it... but maybe I could have? And more importantly, maybe I should have been just a little further south and even more angled if they were able to shoot through that?

I tried to observe it myself, but the firing decals stopped appearing on my tanks after the first two, so I don't know if they were still going through my upper glacis or not? Just a little clarification would be cool!

Oh my god turning on server reticle might just make for the most amazing change ever.

It feels much more difficult, like I'm aiming through sludge, but when I connect I actually CONNECT. I will see how much of a difference this makes and how much I get used to it.

So, server reticle hasn't immediately resulted in a huge uptick in damage or anything (though I did notice I did better in my TX tanks, especially with the Leopard). It's harder to aim, so I'm taking fewer shots, but the ones I'm taking connect more. Still, that results in less exposure and more confidence (and less wasted ammo).

Also, it's mostly incidental, but I did notice it made a HUGE difference in terms of my SPG shot accuracy [joke about accuracy not mattering in SPGs goes here].

It probably doesn't help that the Leopard 1 is a rubbish tank, I love it and it is my most played tier 10 and I've 3 marked it, but my word it just sucks compared to all other tier 10 meds.

I don't use server reticle due to having <50ms and that I've gotten used to it, hell I don't even turn it on when on SG these days.

If I feel that it is a bit out then I quickly turn it on to confirm my suspicions and if that is the case I leave it on until it sorts itself out.

Well, I love the STB-1, so I hear you.

I love the Leo too, but as bad as the STB-1 is among TX MTs, it can still do more than the Leo, which is really just a TX LT in a body barely smaller than a Type 5.

I think of all my frequently-played tanks, the reticle lag was most noticeable on the Edelweiss, which has a somewhat slower turret traverse than is usual for a T8 MT. Which goes a ways towards explaining why it was one of my worse-performing T8 MTs (it's hard to tell, because WotLabs doesn't show WN8 for it... but it's clearly less DPG than most of my other T8 MTs).

The Leo and the Mutz seems to come out favourably when using the Server reticle, as they have good traverse and very skilled crew (same crew is shared between the two - my first ever female crew, so they're close their 7th skill).

The STB's notorious bloom actually became more noticeable with the server reticle. Luckily, since I've done just about everything possible to reduce it (I even have Improved Dirty VStabs and am working on grinding bonds for Improved Dirty Vents), so it's more that I'm not wasting shots. I think my DPG has actually gone up a fair bit in the STB now (noticing more games where I break the 3.5k~ mark), but it's a small sample size so far.

Little replay: http://wotreplays.eu/site/4364419#westfield-framframson-leopard_1

This is the kind of game I really truly love: Carrying a bad team through to a win by devious tactical play rather than sheer firepower. Few things in WoT feel as good as absolutely robbing a steamrolling gang of meatheads of their win by capping them out.Was entirely too pleased with myself when I baited that suicide shot from the T30, because I knew then that we'd won - after that he couldn't reload in time to stop our cappers (unless maybe he rammed one, but I was pretty sure he wouldn't make that far down it in time).

Wasn't perfect and I'm sure there's lots of stuff I could have done better, so happy to hear criticism/reviews as well.

Man, I don't know what's going on, but in under a week, I've dropped from a 56% WR in the Strv 103B to 45%. I think that's a new cratering as far as my loss streaks go.

I'm just trying to do TD missions, geez. Can't even get TD-12-3 done.

44%

What was my very best TX is now my very worst.

This is why we can't have nice things.

Ah man, I know that frustration. I've managed to maintain an win rate of 32% so far in 37 games in my M60 :P I'm actually impressed that it's that bad.

Ended up back at 43%

So, my record for today's session was 3-1-19, including a 14-game straight loss streak, most of which were all-TX (i.e. I was not required to personally carry due to top-tier burden).

"Statistically improbable" sure does seem to happen a lot to me! I know I've had 4-5 10+ win streaks, but never in the same tank. Whereas I've had a couple dozen 10+ Loss streaks now, and many in one tank.

I wonder if we could calculate a theoretical mathematical value on the maximum impact tilting can have without you actually TKing your team? I was tilting for a few games of course, but after a while I just focused on playing well... and kept losing hopelessly anyway. Yet I kept going - just to see how far down MM would flush me. A strange sort of masochism, I suppose, but with my only nice TX record completely ruined already, why the hell not?

What I found was that while I was obviously minimally effectual, almost every team had ZERO vision or map control. In match after match, my team quickly feel behind by two, three or more tanks in under a minute and almost never had control of the majority of the map area. Over and over and over again. With teams quickly hemmed into a quarter of the map or less, and me having to do my own spotting, I really couldn't use the Strv's strengths at all (the Strv is not a carry tank, we know this).

Eventually I quit off after one win broke the streak (where I was literally vaporized as soon as I left spawn - the enemy team was allowed a completely uncontested 140 yolo all the way down the 4 line to our base without stopping - and our team only won a cap race by ONE SECOND, because HURRDURR VALLEY ON LAKEVILLE IS 4 WINNARS. It could not possibly have been a dumber, more pointless victory). Was getting tired anyway.

I'm mean it's not even frustrating once you let it go and realize another of the few precious nice things you still had is gone forever. You're just kind of left with this bewilderment.

Tonight's Strv 103B report:

- Down to 41%

- Record for the night was 3-2-11. Longest winless streak was 7 games in a row.

- No new mission completions.

- NO tilting! Not even once, funny enough. Concentrated, played reasonably well, and frequently did 3k+ damage. I know 3k's not enough to hard carry TX, but I did my bit at least.

I gotta ask though. WHERE are these magic bushes everyone complains about? Felt like I spent all night getting spotted by heavies at 420m on the first shot while 15m behind a bush (and yes, behind, not in). Definitely tired of being spotted by freaking E3s and Mauses rolling across open fields with total impunity. Also seems almost impossible to do relevant early damage or perform area denial in the Strv right now.

Also, man, was I ever getting a LOT of ghost shells tonight. Although I don't think it would have altered the outcome of more than 1 or 2 matches at most, and maybe none at all.
