With the Obj 268 On Track, I went and bought the Obj 704. Keeping the ISU-152 for the lols, so I put together a relatively fresh crew from other tanks for the tier 9 and put them through an Intermediate Course Re-training. But as I've no intention of rolling out in a tier 9 casemate TD with a less than 100% crew, I went through my garage and dusted off the Box Tank, the SU-100Y.

I distinctly remember at some point last year contemplating selling the SU-100Y. I hadn't touched it in awhile and needed the garage space. But I sold the Skoda T40 instead. That's self-explanatory-ish.

But the SU-100Y was perfect for my needs, and it is still oh so glorious.

A 130mm gun at tier 6, 440 avg damage per shot with the default PB-46 AP. That's an insta-kill for most tier 4 and 5 tanks and ruins the game for anything else. And 196mm of penetration (plus the overmatch mechanics) means not many things will be able to ricochet except in extremities.

The premium 130mm PB-46A round is unique too. More avg damage (550) is a "fair" trade-off for the slightly less penetration (171 is still a lot for a tier 6) and is just pure overkill (or appropriately Russian).

Until WG realizes and gives us a tier 8 Soviet TD, the SU-100Y fits the bill for crew training, credit earning and extra rations of fun if facing tier 8s in the SU-122-44 isn't your forte.

More damage with premium rounds? 550 is overkill, esp for tier 6.

Now I want one.

I haven't had much opportunity or even felt the need to dab the 2 key, and even if you're top tier it's almost a waste to do so unless you're extra savage and want to really bash some seals.

But it is a premium tank and its right there. So go nuts.

The "Battle barn" as my buddies call it.

LT-playing masochist. It's too much fun to be a mosquito.

Been seeing a few when I play my E25 and it also seems to have a hand of Stalin defensive shield which makes my first couple of shells, regardless of where they are aimed, hit the mantlet for zero damage.

I sold it in the trade-in to get a Type 64. I had the ISU122S in the garage as a trainer.

it's the only bit of mercy that it gets from Joe, since it doesn't take long for it to become a coffin.

I almost forget that the ISU-122S exists, partly since its such a rare sight compared to its fast-boi cousin the SU-122-44.
