Lets say, hypothetically, you were a member that had now accrued two warnings for apparently posting off topic? In a thread that had already gone off topic pages before?

This hypothetical member had not been abusive, racist, defamatory, posted any illegal content or anything like that, all he had done is post off topic?

Wargaming obviously need to cover themselves from a legal perspective. But excessive and arbitrary moderation by  [Removed] creates dead and dull forums, so maybe time to loosen the rules a little? Limit moderators ability to issue warnings to serious transgressions and not petty ones?

Indeed. While these corrective measures are a nice gesture, i'm interested in what changes WG will be making to help avoid further issues and hopefully then regrow the forums.

Don't worry, I've been warned for off topic posting in... off topic

Methinks some mods could do with some reading (of subforum names) too.

This has been one of most lax periods of moderation on these forums.

Just ask anyone from PBKAC.

The off topic warnings for an off topic thread were gold. Wasn't there also an off topic thread that was moved to CR/D, then the initial people got pinged for posting off topic?

Quite a number of people have talked to me about this move. Some say it's a big mistake. Well, they almost all said it was.

This is a small gesture of trust for our players. To those still active in the game. At the very core, it is also an experiment.
People may think I am too trusting of people. I give people a chance and it's up to them what they do with that chance.

As for game bans, that's really a different animal all together. I hardly doubt anyone banned for over a year would be coming back.

You either die a hero or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain. Guess which one I am.

FG is game banned and there are plenty of people who would love to have him back.
And apart from me there are a couple of perma chatbanned players if I'm not wrong, and plenty with high chance of being so due to the escalation nature of chatbans, who probably due to removal of cross-team chat and option to turn off in-game chat are somewhat safer from sperging now.
