That reminds me... I want to name my male crew Mario & Luigi, but have no idea what to use for a last name (they officially do not have a last name, per Miyamoto).

Mario Cart and Luigi Cart?

Free exped to tier 6. Its a pretty nice tank to play. Am enjoying it with its high alpha.

If that was a name in the Italian lists I would totally do that...

Free XPed to the four.  The High Pen HE is comedy gold.  Didn't Ace it with 800 base XP.  Next day Aced it with 372 base.  Turns out I was ahead of the curve.  I've kept the radio Operator and put the Fiat 3000 crew into the tier 4 plus a spare. Might run it occasionally for stress relief.

Played one game in the tier 5 then got caught up in a long tier 6 session so to make better use of it I sold the 5, bought the 6 and moved crew (Progetto crew), camo and equipment up. The bis is hit and miss, gun can be derpy as hell and mobility niggly.  Alpha is good fun though, kind of a low profile Skoda T-40 that trades some top speed for better traverse.

Same here, playing it a bit like a second line td until I upgrade the engines.

The P26/40 at TIV is a beast when it's top tier.

Armour can't be penned by TIII's and IV's, and the HE has 70mils of pen and does 175 damage. You can two shot most tanks in the game.

Had a monster game on the w/e, 7 kills, 1134 damage, 1st class mastery badge, sharpshooter, master gunner, duelist, fire for effect, bruiser, Pascucci's medal, High Caliber, and Top Gun.

Check it out here: http://agingjedi.wot-record.com/replay/96326/charcoal44_p2640_what_a_beast

When you are bottom tier it's somewhat harder, you will need gold, and join the rear echelon.

Played one round in the tier 4 last night, seemed ok in a tier 6 game till i found myself 1v1 with a T-34-85. Game over with 700 odd damage.

The Tier IV, Carro Armato P26/40 is a total beast tank in Tier IV, and I got 4 "Ace Master" in it. :great:

Tier 5 P.43 is...bland, similar to Skoda T24 and Strv m/42. Maybe because it doesn't have a derp gun like the Pz IV(H) & M4, that it's just another medium tank with a 75mm gun. Decent when top tier, but outclassed when bottom.

Currently, at tier 6, the P.43 bis is where it starts to get interesting with a 90mm gun, offset by the -7 gun dep (not unplayable, and doesn't take away from the Brits or Americans), and mobility is just acceptable. The tank is a potential keeper, or at least not to be overlooked or skipped over too quickly.

Looking at the P.43 ter, it seems to be just more of the same but at tier 7. Not necessarily a bad thing, but how it compares to similar tanks like the T20 remains to be seen.

I think the biggest upgrade between the T6 and the T7 is a mobility boost, but I'm slowrolling my grind with a few games here or there and aren't at the T7 yet.

That alpha at T6 on a medium is a hoot though.

the biggest alpha for a tier 6 MT is a definite plus for this tank and in some circumstances, the HE can come in handy.

a mobility boost would be a welcome upgrade to tier 7, but then it's no longer the shit with that gun.

Man, I am dealing close to 1k average damage per game (most was about 2100, IIRC) in the P43 bis and have a win rate of 36% in it.

are you kidding me

It's an all new low in tanks which attract the worst teams ever. Didn't think anything would do worse in that respect than my M53, but here we are.

So it sounds like Tier 4 and 7 is a keeper?

Since i don't think i would grind this line higher than tier 7 atm.

Same. Once I get to the 7, I'm just going to leave it there unless they buff the T9/TX. Basically the exact same situation as I ended up for the American HT line.

So yeah, looking at the grind, the upgradeable engines become the stock engines for the next-tier tanks, which means that you can actually unlock all engines along the research path for free just by researching the next-tier tank.

So I'm actually thinking, how playable are these Italian tanks when with a stock engine,

Well, I dunno about higher tier tanks, but the T6 is just ridiculously slow with the stock engine and even the 2nd engine. You need that top engine just to get acceptable mobility.

Well, I finished up my grind of the T6 and man... it was WEIRD.

Worst luck I've ever had with any tank in nearly 40k games, hands down... even my ghastly ARL 44 career when I didn't know anything about stats was miles better than this. Ended up with a win rate of 35% (at one point very near the end it was down to 33%, but then I had to go and carry a couple games and spoil it) - and it took me 101 battles to complete the grind, crawling along on loss XP, even though I free-XP'd the top gun, turret and tracks.

I wasn't even mad or tilting (though there was a 4-5 game run with Thom where I was tired and lazy and just yolo'd), at any point in all those games. It was all too strange to be angry at all. Hell, I'm STILL not mad... I should be! But I just... can't.

I think after the third time I fell back down under 40%, I just stopped caring entirely (this was around the 80 battle mark, so it's not like an amazing performance would have turned things around), basically sleepwalking through fights (this did not seem to affect performance, lol).

The tank never felt bad to play, or weak or anything other than the gun being derpy as [edited] (but that was fine, except for the occasional point blank non-pen on paper armour, LOL RNG). It's not like I was frustrated with a tank I felt couldn't do the job. The one thing I have noticed though is that the tank seems very RNG-dependent (well, more so than the average tank). The accuracy's a joke, the damage roll seems to have a very wide spread, the AP pen could be troll as [edited] sometimes, and the turret armour wasn't paper, but was just semi-reliable enough to convince you to try and use it sometimes (bad idea).

I dunno, but it's gone now!

Only had a few games in the T7, but it feels really nice. It's basically a more accurate and more mobile version of the T6, and also has MUCH bouncier armour.  The turret's hardly impenetrable, but it seems decently reliable against T7s and even many T8s.
