I am getting old (turning 40) and in July have been playing this terrible tanks related game for 7 years. I have quit multiple times but usually get sick of whatever other game I have been playing (Fallout 4, Stellaris, EUIV and Star Wars Empire At War:Thrawns Revenge) so seem to come back. I think I like the pain.

Basically don't know the maps, don't know the tanks, my armor doesn't work, everything bounces or eats the sides, hands hurt, back hurts, feet hurts and probably going blind. Can't buy a win that while tier 8/arty thing but I am the best player ever in the Super Conq.

Anyway as much as I used to mock them I came to an unhealthy realisation. I am the pubbeh now.  Get off my lawn. You know you are getting old when.

18/19 year olds young ladies  become annoying instead of cute.

You can remember 3 nations in tanks.

You remember when EA made good original games. General Chaos baby.

The Tiger II used to be good.

Australia could beat NZ at Rugby

Wargaming had good customer service (delusional getting old)

D&D was AD&D

16 bit was a thing.

CDs existed

1991 was the best year for music ever (Nirvana, Sound garden, Pearl jam, U2 when they didn't suck, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Guns N Roses, Metallica (when they din't suck), Faith No More, all released good albums/singles.

You remember being good at tanks.

What are you complaining about? My 48th birthday is less than a month away. I have quitted WOT several times in the past 7 years but like you I came back as it was a game I am reasonably good at, heck I just gotten my 100th Orlik in the EVEN 90 a few minutes ago but before that I was placed in BOT/Noobs teams the whole morning till my blood pressure shot up into the unhealthy range because RNG/MM further screwed me up. But on the other hand, I seriously doubt I will ever get dementia or Alzheimer's disease as this game does trained my reflexes and improve my brain activities.

Looking at the minimap gives you a competitive advantage over 75% of the server base. Aim your tank at the circle thingy with a flag in it, then push W.

+50% w/r guaranteed. using LMB will increase this metric; But this is optional, in case you are also playing Scaleletrix, watching Thundercats re-runs on monitor 2 and eating Yo-Go's.

The easier way is to look at the tank stats and buy a tank that meets your win rates expectations. I bought the EVEN 90 as I saw that its expected win rate was in the 53% range and true enough no matter how badly I played or noobed, my win rate is permanently stuck in the 53% range.

Just play artillery. Best way to tell everyone on the enemy team to get off your lawn.

Added bonus of requiring minimal WASD and general awareness.

RIP Aufklärungspanzer Panther 16th July 2015. You will be missed, friend.

Maybe you have become so pubbeh you haven't noticed frontline mode. You cant find tier 8 games because everyone is playing that.

I'm not sure I would pin it down to 1991 exactly but the 80's and 90's have definitely had the best music and movies of the modern era.

I mean, the whole reason I play this game over other, less painful, FPS-type games is that this is basically slow and chess-like enough that it's an old man's FPS.

LT-playing masochist. It's too much fun to be a mosquito.

And Kylie released the Let's Get to It album in that year too, which....well yeah. Good thing Kylie's previous album Rhythm of Love was released on a -ber month in 1990 so it still counts for 1991.

Sorry but you are not getting old yet, otherwise yes a good list, 'cept 70s was the best time for music, 90s was ok, but not the best.

Bah humbug!!

40 is the new 20.

And as for music, Ska was my love as a younger chappie, and it still drives my young fella beserk when dad decides (usually after a few bevvies) to warm up the piano to accompany the horns....

And a good indicator of age is how cheap the music video was. One camera, a car and jam your mates in and its done. You are 40+

Rock the Casbah was mine.

Annoyed the bejesus out of the olds by playing it on high repeat. Dad was in an early synth phase and was battling me with Popcorn, and mum was into Nana Mouskouri......
