ANZ server population too low to sustain both Frontline and Random Battles?

That's my feeling. I don't like Frontline, I like random battles. I'm a very casual player, and on the ANZ server the waiting times for Random are too long when Frontline is running. Probably this isn't an issue when the cable to Singapore isn't broken, but at the moment it is. (My current ping on DG server is 250+ with a lot of variance).

Anyway, not much anyone can do about it I suppose. Just having a whinge.

During the weekdays, I have found, even with the ANZ server being on 24/7 due to the cable problems, there aren't enough players till around 4pm at least.  Rarely time-out after about 3:30pm.

The problem with Frontline is that they gave the Tier 8 loaners to EVERYONE, including the newbies.  Besides the good credits you can get and the new HUGE map, it is so frustrating when the newbies don't know how to play and stuff it up when they die quickly, then have to wait all that time before one of their two tanks is repaired.  This leaves the team short for extended periods.  I also think that you should be able to re-capture the caps.

On the other hand, with all the newbies playing with their shiney Tier 8  loaners in Frontline, there are less of them in Randoms and the quality of those games is better.

Too many people were let down by wargaming NA when they transferred to SEA server, they were promised account mergers which never happened.  As a result, many gave up playing the game altogether.

I like random battles to.  I think most people do.  but, the current frustration with the atrocious match making means if you want to play tier 8 your better off playing frontline.  Yes you have to put up with other issues but if you approach it as just a place to get your crews trained up and make credits and do not worry about the result, whilst still trying to win,  then it will be ok.   Then, when War Gaming fix MM.  Sometime in 2150. You can go back to random battles.  Server population is an issue that will never go away. It will always be a problem for the Aus/NZ server.

The account transfers were done well, i had no issues. Some people did get progress deleted though.

BlackBerrie (9:30:24 PM) you have to be 58% win8 to get in there clan.. which is impossible

It might be nice if they could provide numbers of player in queue in each tier when the queue numbers are low, say under 100 during these periods when the ANZ server is on 24/7 because of connection problems. Or allow us to have 10 v 10 or 12 v 12 battles.

Just to comment that I, and many others I play with, have been enjoying the FL games.

They encourage aggressive play - 'cept i use arty a lot, and had 9 General games with a few of the other top awards mixed in.

The only problem is that when I go back to Random games I take a bit of time to recognise the maps again.

+1

I spent over 90% of my time on Singapore as it is impossible to know the likelihood of the delay to start a match. An alternative statistic would be the average number of matches started per tier over the last 15mins or 30mins.
