Hi,

Given a situation where an enemy tank is tracked and allies are shooting at it. If I put of its track again while it is repairing, will I get any assist damage for it?

Thanks all

Yes and no. If he fully repairs and you knockout his track again, then yes, I think you would.

I think he's referring to keeping the enemy tracked, i.e. you  shoot the sprocket while he's still repairing. If someone else tracked him first, then no, there's no assist.

No assist but do it anyway because it could mean the difference between winning and losing... and believe me, it's incredibly useful to have a team mate with a fast reload keeping someone still while you wait for your longer reload.

Thanks all. Just asking as I'm having difficulties for getting the 3MOE for Kv5.

TOne more question - Could shooting HE at a side scraping tank without exposing it front or back wheel be able to track the tank?

Thanks alot

How would they sidescrape without exposing a rear wheel?

I guess it would depend on the burst radius of the HE. Can't say for certain as I don't fire much of the stuff (except in arty).

Could be sidescraping behind two hardcover objects,  i.e. sidescraping while having the gun poke out of a narrow gap between buildings.

HE will usually track a tank if you hit the tracks. Keep in mind though you really don't want to be loading HE for 3 marking tanks. Stick with AP & APCR to maximise damage output. It's easy enough to track the enemy with AP or APCR because most players are pretty bad at positioning and will just poke out 90 degrees or at very bad angles that allow easy tracking (and usually) damaging shots.

Also, if a tank is already tracked, there's usually a good chance that you yourself can get in there and hammer the sprocket wheel and score actual damage yourself besides also keeping the tank tracked.
