They tried your way, and it proved a complete failure. Your way failed, other options now need to be tried

From all reports 10 CW has seen an uplift in competitiveness. Seems like a success to me. Noting WG may have actual data but without it i guess it's speculation either way. Those who enjoyed tier 6 CW will think it was a failure, while those who didn't want 6 CW (the majority by the last poll) will think it a success.

Its only a failure because they aren't as competitive in tier 8 and are finding out what it actually takes to be a serious CW clan.

I think there are some good ideas here but we need to be careful with personal awards based on things like highest damage etc. Skirmishes are team events and sometimes someone has to take a hit for the Team win. If it just becomes a group of individuals all trying to do the most damage then I think you will break team games. No-one will follow calls especially legionnaires. It could just become a free-for-all. I like the personal rewards concept, I just think everyone should share equally in personal rewards based on the team winning.

Also I get the merging clans idea to combat lack of activity within a clan. But it doesn't fix the lack of other clans to oppose in battle. It just reduces the number of potential opposition to get a good set of battles going. And finally, Please Please Please improve the information in the client. When people are peaking in to see how many teams are skirmishing or they are already searching for opponents in a full detachment, show them how many other detachments are in battle or searching for opponents or building detachments. It can help to encourage detachments to stay in the fight. Its just basic common sense. Good in-game information keeps players and Teams engaged.

Tier10 does have a certain amount of participation. It's not a failure in itself, the idea that all the tier6 players would start playing tier 10 was a failure. The vast majority stopped playing clan activities, and without the binding glue of the clan, left the game altogether.

The casual clans need some sort of relevant and regular competition to play in. This would be a simple option, it would work, and would not have any negative effect on the tier10 competition.

This is a good point, the last arms race event did not take personal damage into account for personal fame points, and this was considered a good move, at least by the guys in my clan.

But it is important for a weak / losing clan to have a sense of advancement and achievement. If a team is losing always and just get 0 points, they give up very quickly. The same applied if they fall to the bottom half of the ladder where their are no rewards, teams give up then too.

Or individual players start flocking to stronger clans, a very bad trend

This is all true Brutal. Well done on thinking beyond the box. It looks like we will never win back the Tier 6 CW, and so there definitely needs to something to replace. Hell, even the self appointed elite have said if you want Tier 6 play Skirmish. So yeah, WG do need to do something. I can see the "elite" clans kicking up a stink about protection of end game content in Tier 10, and look I get it. Nothing worse than just having swarms of crommie sprem all the time, but you can also have same thing with BCs running around. No skill in autoaim circling. So I understand that gets boring and having 15 players means that's just not a thing because you must have good callers and a decent handle on the strat map.

The only thing I don't like about skirmish as supposed to CW, is I love sitting around strating a map for the next battle. But you can't do that with Skirmish because of random maps. I'll get over it though. :-)
