I see some possibility how World of Tanks Southeast Asia will increase base player by doing this by merge those country server: South Korea, China, Japan with single powerful HK Server.
Another hand optimize internet routing from each country in the same time everyone will be happy. WG reduce maintenance cost as well.
PS. Hope WG will consider this option you can look at EVE Online as they have only one server on earth...

So if this is the case why was the internet routing not done before the change over ? I think the biggest problem we the players have is we were not told untill after this change over .

Pre-emptive strike ..... forewarn all isp's involved and advise optimal routing in advance with declaration of server changeover date.
Is it too difficult (not picking on WG here, all online gaming companies are lax) to sort out best routes from player nations and hit our isp's say a month before you pull shit like this? You did not buy HK server space yesterday, this wasn't an adlib decision at Friday's meeting.

TBH i'm not too fazed by the entry point being changed to HK, but i do agree that connecting from indonesia to SG is more comfy, ping-wise. and as the resident indian says, it didn't bother him that much too, so i see no issues.
i AM currently playing on preety bad internet, so all i see here are mostly whiny kids looking for a binky
i do agree however that the lack of a heads-up for players was...unprofessional. upsetting. mild discomfort.

I think they deserve a few days of window to optimize the routing. My ping has somewhat improved from 250ms - 270ms to 150ms - 180ms.
