Same issue here in India. Hong kong is unplayable.

Hi, I play from india and i have not seen any issue. ping used to be 70-100 and now it is from 100-120. Pretty manageable.

You have 2 options.

1. talk to your ISP or send the data WG needs to improve the routing.

2. Use a service like killping or wtfast to improve the ping. i and my brother personally use killping and are very happy with the improvement in ping. (note it will only improve ping caused by poor routing, if you are physically far away killping will not help).

Edit: I played 2 battles in the morning to test the ping out and to complete the kursk missions and the ping was fine for me. No lag, no ping spikes and no packet drops.

Killping is not free. If you buy 2 years together you can get it for 48$, which was a worthwile investment considering how much i spend on this game.

As for the ping, i would assume that you will get similar/ better ping to HK. Do a tracert and share the data with WG.

Try the steps listed here. http://forum.worldoftanks.asia/index.php?/topic/41322-experiencing-connectivity-issues-read-this-first/#topmost

share the data with WG and i think they will be able to help you.

Routing is not looked after by WG.... Routing is done by your ISP's network team together with their back end partners.

WG can not help with routing issues.

Hello's.

Previously there was..

1 Server in Singapore for the Asia server (the account holder) + 1 periphery server in Singapore which hosts games, and 1 periphery server in Australia which hosts games, And an additional periphery server in Hong Kong, which has been switched off up until now.

Now there is ..

1 Server in Singapore for the Asia server (the account holder) + 1 periphery server in Australia which hosts games, And the periphery server in Hong Kong switched on, to replace the Singapore periphery.

From Aus .. Sydney to HK is primarily/usually about the same as Sydney to Singapore..
AUS to Singapore the routing goes via Perth then up through the Perth to Singapore cable which breaks often for long periods of time.

AUS to Hong Kong, the routing goes up from Sydney, then over to Hong Kong, bypassing Perth.

A mass of routing has been optimized before the swapover..

But every location / every ISP / Etc has a different route / path... Some may not be optimal at the moment, and need the ISP's to adjust routing to optimal..

We request these changes to routing on behalf of players regularly..

So if you are having bad routing .. please get WG staff a copy of the routing you have, so we can work on getting it optimized for you.

To do this, you can drop to a cmd prompt.

And then ping the server with ... tracert wotasia2.login.wargaming.net

Then copy paste the results and send them through..
Either via support, skype, or PM them to me.

DO NOT post them publicly into the forums for your privacy..

Regards
Tan

You better off sending the reports to support, they can try to optimise your routing so your ISP can reroute to a better route.

So for ANZ players who can't play in prime time, can they move to NA? I personally would like to.

Wait... even CHINA'S getting shit routing to Hong Kong?! :amazed:

Then again, I can believe it, given the measures the glorious people's ISP takes to protect its users from themselves...

Uhhhh... that would be is a lot harder to request than just sending a tracert to support?

Your traffic seems to be getting routed from Frankfurt, germany. That is the reason for the very high ping. Hope the ISP will try to use a more optimal route.

Please raise a support ticket to make sure WG looks at it as said in the post.

This is amazing.

I love that somewhere some employee at an Asian ISP figured that it would be a good idea to set up a route to Hong Kong that went through GERMANY.

Considering how taboo gaming is in these parts ,it is somewhat in india (though the situation is improving) and i assume the same for pakistan, i think gaming would not be high on the priority list for whoever is doing that.

Maybe the route which is the cheapest and then one with less congestion. Who cares about the ping to gaming server.

samibsal, raising a ticket will be very helpful to get your issue fixed. We can't alter your routing, but WG certainly can by contacting your respective ISP for better optimisation.
