Despite huge efforts, the lack of success in North Africa proved frustrating to Erwin. Unlimited paprika remained a pipedream.

I heard that Italian spices were used to support him in his endeavor, but eventually they switched suppliers.

The tier 4 is great fun. 70mm HE Pen. I had a game yesterday where I did 6 shots of damage for 3 kills and just under 1k damage  in a tier 6 game. Penned them all. It made me happy.

Tier 5 is the difficult part. Do I load AP with 107 pen? HE with 70 pen? Or a different gun with 118 pen AP?

EIther way the guns are relatively inferior to that of other nations: the Cannone da is the stock German L/43 with 70-pen HE, while the Skoda gun is a clumsier L/48. Not that the 175-damage HE is amazing either when the Strv has a 150-alpha AP cannon.

I gave up on the five after a couple of games.

The 6 I found close to good but the lack of mobility the killer (the Pole looks even worse) and took a bit of work to get it back to 60%, from the 7 up though... swoon.

The only Spaghetto I've kept so far was my T7. Technically "grinding" the Standard B at the moment, but it's really just a couple games here and there.

Pantera was great, but no need to keep it when we all have the Prog Rock 46.

Grinding through the Pantera now still need 119k xp to buy base Standard, went to my other game (New FPS) simply have no way to compete with the guys who are leaping in the air sideways this way and that while head shotting me when I have trouble shooting them at all :child:, actually find grinding is more enjoyable than just randoms for randoms sake, at least I have a goal of maximising Xp.

The Bis was good IMO, the Ter not so bad, Pantera I am learning to compete in slowly.

The polski tankette finally gives me a T2 keepable enough to sell the crushingly awful Light Vic (I hate T1-3, but I keep 2 T2s and a couple T3s for when my friends want to DESCEND TO THE DEPTHS).

I'm happy.

I'm not actually playing the game.

I'm working on a university assignment.

It's actually more fun than said game.

Interesting.

To be fair though, that's not a hard ask. I've been happy since uninstalling as well. Finding more time I can spend going back to productive hobbies, etc.

What's your assignment?

I'm happy that 70% WR in 10TP in 10 battles and then sold 10TP to play 14TP soon.

Doing a unit for Unix systems admin, part of the assignment was to install Ubuntu on a VM. Was having a lot of fun installing it as I've wanted to do it for a while but been too busy with other stuff to get around to it. Gotta say I'm fast becoming a fan of the whole Unix system and how open and modifiable it is.

Ahh, yeah, it's a great ecosystem, isn't it? I've been using Linux almost exclusively for years, and keep Windows only for gaming. I've just installed Bionic Beaver (that name makes me chuckle) on the latest ultrabook I bought last week at a computer fair. It's great that the OS just works, does exactly what you want, and stays out of your way. There's no faffing about with that. All the free stuff you can get is a major boon too, and I see commercial software companies are taking the platform more seriously as well (e.g. I have Microsoft's VS Code running native).

I had a bit of a play around with VM for a time. There's a guy I know who likes to say things like "Ubuntu is ancient African for 'can't install Debian'". Yes, that just goes to show he's stuck in the past during the 'distro wars' era, but I guess for some the war never ends. Just to show how backward that thinking is I installed and ran Debian, Mint, and Arch under paravirtualisation at the same time on Ubuntu using Xen.

Yeah I really appreciate the transparency that it provides compared to something like Windows which feels fairly restrictive. I'll definitely be getting another hard drive for a dedicated install sometime (for now I'm required to use the VM for the unit though).

By MS's VS code running native, you mean that you can just install the .net framework on Linux & run VS without any extra fluff?

...and yeah any wars are really unnecessary. I've always taken the stance of "use what works best for that particular situation", I've never understood why people decide to go full [edited] fanboy mode on any particular thing and use it exclusively (be it software, hardware, or even something like Ford vs Holden).

I just downloaded the .deb from their website and installed with gdebi, which takes care of any dependencies. It's quite possible that it included the framework with it, but I definitely had no hand in installing it manually. Within a minute I was running it and installing extensions. Very fast and lightweight, unlike Eclipse which I was using before.

Doesn't matter if it can't pen other T2s and is too slow to flank... :sceptic:

That's actually really cool. Will have to have a crack at that when I get some free time.
