IMO, the only way to stop or slow the decline in players isn't advertising, it isn't contunuing to throw buckets of cash at WGL esports or introducing new items to the game that allow the best players to get even better (bonds and improved equipment), it's that ol' chestnut, word of mouth advertising.

WG puts this question into some of their surveys from time to time but am interested to see what the general player base (well... forum using playing base) say to this. So given the current state of the game and the ongoing issues (which I'll list some), would you really try and get any friends to play the game (or even come back and give it another go)?

Some current issues, particualrly those affecting new players:

- total lack of balance in lower tiers

- +/-2 MM

- arduous grind

- broken MM, especially platooning MM (I'd never have played more than a 100 games if I wasn't platooning with mates)

- toxicity of chat

- seal clubbers

- the fun has gone out of the game

Counter Strike, DotA don't have tiering system and they work fine...

Noobs don't snipe because they are good at snipe; noobs snipe because they can't do anything else / People don't lose because they lemming; people lemming because they are losers

Do not confuse team strength with individual strength; a single enemy killed in a 1v3 is worth more than two enemies killed in a 4v2 / Lanchester's Square Law predicts in a 2v1, the side with 2 will end with 1.5 tanks remaining, so if you won with less than that remaining, you're actually noob, not pro

When you are not losing because you outnumber the enemy, your other flank is losing because they are outnumbered; it's just math

Law of mirror: When you are holding a 1v6 against the enemy, you own team is also getting 6v1 held by the enemy

Noob self-balancing theory: When you release a good tank, enough noobs will flood to play it, until the server stats become average again

Or maybe your rank determines the tier of tank you have access to

After researching a tank, you need >50% winrate in your current tank to buy the next tank. And if your next tank overall winrate is below 50% for 50 battles continuous, you lose the tank and the XP spent to research the tank (but not the credits nor the XP on the tank; the tank becomes locked), and you need to regrind on the previous tank to get it back.

*50 battles due to the 20-battle rule, which seems to have become 50-battle rule with the current MM.

Friends don't let friends play WoT.

Whenever I get the questionnaire in game asking this question, I always ask "where's the 'LOL' option?".

I love the questionnaire.

I wonder why they don't send it my way anymore. Perhaps it was my highly negative and sarcastic replies.

Dota give everthing a player need to be competitive even at world lvl from the start, you need to grind them for yrs in WoT. Theres a big different between true competitive mmo and grinding mmo, they even got sbmm at that :D

agree that the grind for lategame is too heavy. especially when you get stuck with "special" tanks like the Porsche Tiger and the Ikv 103. 10TP is prolly the most frustrating tier 3 i've ever played, simply due to the slow reload and frustrating accuracy and aim time. not looking forward to the 14TP, so maybe i should mothball the polish tanks...
