Luchs is Luchs, there is no tank quite like it but there is AMX 12t but I dont recommend it for new players

If you are looking Mobility over Damage its Cromwell and M4A3E8 but knowing that you are a new player I think you might do better in a HT like KV 85

I wouldn't recommend any tier VI until you've learned the basics. Sounds harsh, but tier VI is already plagued with a lot of people who haven't the slightest clue what to do. Far too often I see people with a hundred games, driving their newly minted tier VI doing all the wrong things and dying early: LTs trying to brawl heavies in a corridor, HTs sitting in a bush trying to be a TD, etc. Don't be one of those guys. Let's try to improve the standards of mid tiers.

T34-85

Decent all round tech tree MT, but it has some armour and it's a DPM machine, with decent T6 alpha too.

When in doubt, get Rashan tenk, comrade!

Maybe try to get the hang of the game before getting a tier six. It helps a lot.

Maybe hang around tier 5 for a while.

As for when I started, i got the kv85. Trash when stock, but op with the 100mm. It’s mobile, has decent armour and the 100mm has awesome dpm. Don’t get the 122mm first. It has arty accuracy.

M44, print good silver, low skill needed, perfect for constant low tier in 3/5/7. You wont regret it :great:

Derp, the T-34-85 is the standard tech tree tank (and is bloody nice)

The 85M is the premium variant.

Other good contenders would be the skoda t-25 (3 round auto loader) or the vk30.01d

Yeah I changed the post. Regular T34-85 is fine. Lower DPM, more mobility. Still a perfectly decent all-round T6 Russian tank.

T-34-85, Cromwell, or M4A3E8 are all good from memory.

Memory of the good old days.

Noobs don't snipe because they are good at snipe; noobs snipe because they can't do anything else / People don't lose because they lemming; people lemming because they are losers

Do not confuse team strength with individual strength; a single enemy killed in a 1v3 is worth more than two enemies killed in a 4v2 / Lanchester's Square Law predicts in a 2v1, the side with 2 will end with 1.5 tanks remaining, so if you won with less than that remaining, you're actually noob, not pro

When you are not losing because you outnumber the enemy, your other flank is losing because they are outnumbered; it's just math

Law of mirror: When you are holding a 1v6 against the enemy, you own team is also getting 6v1 held by the enemy

Noob self-balancing theory: When you release a good tank, enough noobs will flood to play it, until the server stats become average again

This is why doing missions in T7 tanks is just so much fun.

The noobs are easy to kill/spot/do damage to when they are on the other team. When they are on your team they tend to poke etc and take shots for you, and then don't ever do much damage to teh enemy.

Its a win win really.

Otherwise maybe a Russian heavy

The 34-85 probably offers the most potential in terms of fun tanks to research later on. You basically get 3 very decent tier 10 meds in addition to very solid tanks leading up to them. On the same logic the vk3001p leads to quite a few armored lines (JPE, maus and vk) if that's more to your tastes. Similarly the type 58 is not only similar to the 34-85 but also leads to 3 tens, tho the grinds are not all that good and aren't as new player friendly.

Some good suggestions here, in particular I liked the T34 85 and M4A3e8. Cromwell is very good in experienced hands but can be a trap for new players in that it is very fast but can be suicidally so where new players rush up front at start get spotted and die with no armour to speak of.

However, tier 6 and 8 right now means being bottom tier 70%+ of the time due to 3,5,7 MM. With an apparent promise to fix that coming in the next few months, right now is not a good time to be playing tier 6. Get whatever you want but you might be best off not playing it straight away and instead grind up other lines you might be interested in.

I'd say that the best tier 6 tech tree mediums are the T-34-85, VK 30.01 P and P.43 Bis.

Only issue is that the VK 30.01 P leads to a lot of lines, most of which comprise of total trash tanks, and the P.43 Bis, being Italian only has the one line.

The tier 5 t-34 is such a joy though it would seem a shame to skip it,
