Hey WG - Whats with the half attempt at AU Tournaments

While I appreciate WG making some tournaments this month on the AU server so we don't have to play through the Packet loss on the HK and waste our time, but why have you only given the ANZ server tier 6 and tier 8 options.

 

3v3 tier 8 Tournament? why bother...

 

You have also made the Ruby 7v7 Tier X tournament on HK only!!

 

So you gave 3 from 4 tournaments on ANZ and HK the most important one to play on, why not allow the tier X on ANZ also.. and let HK server based players suffer the way we do in the format.

 

Don't give us false hopes and take away the only one that matters..

 

Fix it please.

Hi there, first of all, 2v2 and 3v3 are not AU only. They are on both servers, cause a decent number of ANZ players joined them and this allows us to run an experiment for a full month.

 

On the other hand, 7v7 usually sees one, max two teams from the ANZ region, making it difficult to have its own event. 

 

It's not possible to run 7v7 on AU server only since the majority of the player base for that tournament is from HK server. But we can run an experiment (not a full month one, just a single Saturday), and try to have it on both servers and see how the numbers go.
If numbers are positive, we can consider having it for the upcoming tournament plans.

Thanks Never - you might find alot of AU players don't participate in the 7v7 tier 10 tournaments because they are held on the HK server - which is very unplayable for most ANZ players so why would they bother.

 

Giving them equal opportunity to play with a decent ping you might find alot more players from the ANZ would participate.

 

After discussions with multiple clans in the ANZ timezone I know of 5 teams already who would give it a go if it was on the ANZ periphery. Giving us the chance would be appreciated..

 

230ms pings and packet loss every 5 seconds (makes us all not to want to participate in WG in game events and tournaments)

Registered a team for the 2v2 & 3v3 tournaments for the AU server, but now they show we are playing those battles on the HK server. Not a bloody hope in hell now.
And I know I selected AU, not HK when registering.

Some 5v5 7v7 higher tiers would be fun to play with, but 1v1, 2v2, 3v3... boring at low tiers

Hey there, I checked your registrations and you chose HK server when creating the team. I changed it to AU.

When you register your team, the first option "Start Time" allows you to pick the server.

IMO the problems with the tournaments especially with tier 8 2v2 and 3v3 tournaments isn't what server its held on, but the IS-3A spam and poor map rotations. All the maps are either a city map, small map, or a very corridor map which makes it impossible to outplay tanks like the IS-3A. I honestly don't mind playing on HK with 200 ping but please change some of the maps in the rotation to favour tanks with mobility and view range, and also limit overpowered, pay-to-win tanks like the IS-3A to a maximum of 1 per team.

I've actually tried to do a cap strat in a recent tournament with an E25 and T71 and we were 2 seconds away from capping out on himmelsdorf. Increasing the capping time would definitely make the battles more dynamic and more strategic as opposed to just seeing who can rush to the cap first. But personally I think it should be done on a case by case scenario. For example, on a small map like ensk  the cap time should remain unchanged while larger maps like lakeville it should have a longer cap time.

Unfortunately our tournament system doesn't allow different cap times based on the maps played, and neither to limit the number of a certain tank in the teams.

Regarding map pool, suggestions are welcome. Please let me know your ideas and I can have some future tournaments testing new maps etc.
Please consider that 2v2 needs encounter maps and 3v3 atk/def.

 

Maps available for Encounter (current 2v2 maps in bold):

El Hallouf, Empire's Border, Ensk, Erlenberg, Lakeville, Himmelsdorf, Malinovka, Mines, Murovanka, Prokhorovka, Redshire, Ruinberg, Sand River, Siegfried Line, Steppes.

 

Maps available for Atk/Def (current 3v3 maps in bold):

Cliff, Himmelsdorf, Lakeville, Mannerheim Line, Mines, Murovanka, Prokhorovka, Ruinberg, Sand River, Siegfried Line, Steppes, Tundra
