Got all 4 tanks in my garage now apart from my Japanese Tiger which i own. What happens when each tank has played its full allotment of 15 battles ? Do they get locked ? do they disappear ? Do they disappear but leave the garage slot behind ? Or something else ?

 

And do I have to choose my battles and times with care ?

From my past experience with rental tanks, after they expire, they will still be in your garage available for viewing and clicking upon, but you won't be able to use them to get into a battle again.

Not sure about the garage slot though, as they are often in excess, of which I have not been keeping track of.

ehh ,,yes WOT take the garage slot as well,,after we removed the rental tanks,,,,bloody WOT !!

If it's the same with past rental tanks you can hold onto them for as long as you like, you just can't play them.  And why would you do this?  Because you'll have them already set up if you ever get / buy / rent them again in future, plus you can keep crew in them instead of having the crew take up barracks space.

How do we get rid of these stupid rentals without having to play them?

I played the tier 2 for 3 games when it was a reward tank and hated it.

I don't want it in my garage and I am not going to waste my time or credits on playing it.

I guess its really hard to play and control it but there is no need to hate to, infact its more of a reward
