Current thinking is the cw tanks will require cw participation but a set of other tanks may make an appearance in the bond shop.

@ Merwin:

No, you'll need to play in the campaigns to get reward tanks. If your current clan isn't giving you games, there's a couple of things you can do:

1. Take a look at your stats in meta tanks. If they aren't great, that may be why. Try and fix that.

2. You may not participate too much in clan activities between events. Many clans reward their core active group before the more recent applicants.

3. If you do get picked, follow the call. Provide your caller with useful, accurate information only during games.

4. If you have all that ticked, then change clans to somewhere you'll be valued. It may be a clan culture problem.

Nah, problem here is:

Merwin, have you considered that you might need a something other than only a SConq and an Obj 261 for tier X CW?

<shrugs> then it's probably 4k bonds - but there is still the need to be in the campain and finish top 1250.

I can't find anywhere where it says that.

Mate if it doesn't then that's a lol, cause I'll pick one up too.

Edit - here bud:
https://worldoftanks.asia/en/news/clan-wars/soldiers-of-fortune-announcement/

Go about halfway down - available to top 1250 leaderboard only. Does however say players who are not eligible for reward tank exchange may enter a bond auction to compete for another 150 reward vehicles.

So those that have a few bonds spare can still bid for a tank, provided you played the campain and entered the leaderboard. Your minimum bid must be 4500 bonds. Sauce:

Ah, thank you.

EDIT: How long do you have to purchase the tanks after the event? If you know.

Just as an aside, make sure you grind the meta lines. Obj140 is a go to tank, batchat, 5A/277 (plus others). Watch CW replays or talk to good callers and ask what they use as their mainstay tanks. Grind the obvious lines first if CW campaigns is your end goal.

Make sure you have the resources to participate. Then, make sure you can contribute in those tanks.

Then make sure you can follow a call.

Basic ingredients to being a good chance of being picked for a cw team.

Yea totally aware of that problem.

I also  wanted to know if it was possible without having to play the Campaign. Because of the useless 6000 bonds I have idling around.

From memory the last campaign players had to bid their bonds for the reward tank, I don't think 4k bonds would cut it.

So to clarify (thanks spacewolf):

  • Play at least 5 battles and earn at least 100 Fame
  • Top 1250 placing on Alley of Fame, pay 4k bonds for any of the reward tanks
  • Position 1251+, bid bonds for 150 tanks (min. bid 4,500 bonds)

Take note that players will earn bonds for participating in this CW event (clan position x your rank in Alley of Fame), so expect folks to have quite a few bonds to burn.

PSA: Remember to exchange your fame points for the other rewards too.

I bid 5550 bonds last auction and didn't get the tank, so be prepared to be higher than that.

Especially for the 907, I'd expect some players to not care bidding over 10k bonds.

Most people would pay the world for the 907 seeing as how broken that thing is.

top 1250 players have the exclusive right to purchase a reward tank with 4k bonds

Anyone with 5 battles in the campaign have a chance to bid (auction) on and upto 150 tier 10 reward vehicles, these will be pricey as alot of people will be bidding 6,000+ bonds on trying to obtain a tank..

If you don't feel like gambling for a reward tank if not in the top 1250 save your bonds for when the store opens up and just purchase a unique tier 10 tank directly without risk or not winning.. I believe you get the bonds back if you don't win the auction anyway but your bid of 6k+ might be more than buying one from the store at a later date we just don't know.

Correct any unsuccessful bids get refunded (just like a real auction).

6,000 Bonds would be a bargain for a CW reward tank via auction. A lot of players talking of 10k plus bids (even 15+), and the rumours circulating that the 907 and VK will "never be available again" may artificially drive up the price as well. The 6k Bonds long term players got for free not so long ago put a lot of Bonds back "into the market" which could inflate the price again.

I would hope the CW reward tanks don't get sold via the Bond shop - that would "devalue" them in my opinion (and this is coming from someone without any of them). Popular opinion is the Tier 10 tanks which may become available for purchase with Bonds are the FV215b, FV215b 183, Foch etc - tanks which have been replaced.

Time will tell!

You need to play 5 games to get onto the leaderboard, then you can make a bid at the auction. 150 tanks are available in this auction.

The only other way if you did not play 5 battles in the campaign is to PM Hilly, Saff, Nap etc for codes. They will probably tell you that they don't have any initially but don't let this discourage you. They only give out the codes to the really persistent people.
