If the maps haven't changed:
On attack. Hit the C cap early in something with massive armour.
On Defence don't respawn on C to the point where 20 of your team are on C vs 4 tanks and the rest of the team gets steamrolled.
Take premiums and try not to be shit.

Unless WG changes the mode a bit, always make sure to have a crew in the tank you want to play, Frontline won't allow you to bring your favourite tank unless you have a crew in it.
First half of the game is just farming damage. Even in a light tank you won't need to spot as much because there are so many tanks you won't be getting assisted dmg for too long (especially with the recon plane powerup). Focus on supporting the team and staying alive as long as possible.
Bring a healthy spread of premium tanks that can do some damage:
- Progetto 46
- Lorr 40t
- Skorpion G
- SU-130PM
- Defender
- IS-3A
- T-44-100
- LT-432
- Blackdog
- Lowe
And a couple of decent tech tree tanks for the f2p peeps:
- VK 100 01 P
- Charioteer
- Emil I
- ISU-152
- AMX 50 100
- P.44 Pantera
- Jpanther II
- SU-101
Remember - have fun.

I didn't find FL good for grinding. The reward rate is similar - If you did 2000 damage in FL you get the same amount of reward as 2000 damage in randoms. Now, the problem is, 1) You don't really have unlimited respawns, you get one extra spawn after x minutes and can bank up to 2 or something. Which means continued suiciding is not viable. 2) With that in mind, at least one of your tank needs to be able to survive for long periods. Whatever the reason for choosing this good tank, the result is you will be playing most of the match in that tank, leaving less XP for the other tanks. And finally 3) Long durations of travelling without fighting, and less fighting means less XP. Sometimes I get lucky and encounter a continuous stream of enemy, but sometimes I also get 30min of time-wasting defending against attackers who don't even want to cap the first area.
Basically, when I was trying to grind Progetto crew, I ended up with battles like 10k damage in Defender and 2k in Progetto.
And I've measured, with premium time and reserves, randoms generate more credits than FL. The good part of FL though is that you can enter the battle with 1 minute of booster remaining and it still lasts for the whole duration. Without premium and reserves, FL probably wins random's credit income.

He's not wrong. IS3A and Defender are too slow and derpy for this mode most of the time.

The old adage of "if your gun is cold, you're not playing right" still holds true in FL. Last time around, 90% of my games were in fast tanks (I was grinding Pantera 44 and mostly switched between Pantera and Progetto, with a few other MTs sometimes). Fast, accurate tanks with good DPM are the king of making bank in Frontlines.

The relatively poor gun on the WZ plus its mediocre-at-best armor combined with meh view range for these open maps makes it a questionable choice in my opinion. Mediums are way better for FL gamemodes for almost everything except contesting caps.
Well unless someone is trying to grind credits and the Alpine is all he has, then yeah it ain't too bad. Else, id rather bring an IS-3 or Liberte if I had to drag a HT in.

The thing is, nearly all HTs are food in this mode. The armour gets better at a distance, but main the thing about the 111 is that if for some reason you feel like you HAVE to play a heavy, it has the speed to kind of keep pace with the mediums at least in the big pushes. Spotting is no big deal since everyone can run spotter planes and with so many players on the map, there's always spotted tanks and a fight you can be at if you respawn.
The longest times I spent doing nothing in FL weren't waiting for an enemy attack, but the times I took a true heavy like my 252 to break a stalemate and then watched everyone else rush off to the next defensive line, while I trundled along behind like an old lady on a mobility scooter. FL really works better for Heaviums than actual Heavies.
The most extreme example is the VK 100. When the mode comes up, just watch and see how hilariously useless those things are. There's a reason the Maus was a bad design IRL, and it becomes very very obvious, very very quickly when you're not restricted to playing on a postage stamp.

1st part of the game requires HT's to break through or resist breakthroughs. MT's can try to poke around weak areas but can be countered by TD's and scouts.
2nd part of the game requires faster tanks, MT's and LT's to get to the frontlines faster. Slow tanks tend to die under a hail of TD fire.
3rd part HT's get relevant again, but MT's swing across flanks faster. TD's dont do much.
Speed and gun depression are important in this game over armor; remember that everyone has a handy-dandy arty strike so even if you're cowering behind cover you will get bombed.

I like the frountline game mode but the time frame required to get the points required for the major tanks will need you to play this game mode full time for the week that it is on.
I am an average player and i generally get the rank of Captain, to date with 3 days off from work i have gotten to level 22,
As usual War Gaming have taken a great concept and executed it badly. Unless you play full time or a unicom you have no chance of getting the top end tanks.
So if you are not in that top percent don't get your heart stuck on a top tier reward tank.
