Yup. Story of my recent ping. Wg are investigating, tho they've been doing that for some time so I'm becoming less hopeful.

I reckon switch the SG server back on and shut down AUS. With those new cables in use, I don't see the point of having AUS because there are more failsafes if a cable does get cut. Perth to Singproe Cable is up. Indigo cables are finished linking sydney to singapore reducing latency. I'm sure players here will be happy to deal with mostly under 100ms and a server that is far more populated.

Could someone please help me interpret my pingplotter?

so according to the IP checks I've done the main latency is occurring in a jump from within Hong Kong (7 to 8)

A ping of 60ms from Australia should be possible if they get their house in order

Not really unless you can change the speed of light.  Your best ping from Sydney to HK would be in the order of 110 to 120ms due to the distances involved.

What your results show is there is increased latency within the Telstra Global network.  As your pingplotter results show you are using Telstra as your ISP so take the results to them and ask why it is so slow.

7 is a HK IP address though and it gets there in 51ms.

The route is Adelaide -> Perth -> Hong Kong

Sydney isn't on it..check the IP locations.

When the WG server was in Singapore I got a ping well under 100ms.

are Telstra likely to listen to me, or more to the point do anything about it for me given the problematic network node jump exists within Hong Kong?
