Wargaming have made this mission way too grindy.

I am now at rank 21, and I get at least Captain every game with some majors and generals, so have played probably 12 hours maybe. I will get to rank 30 no problems, and if I continue at the same rate will probably reset and get to rank 30 again for the 2 prestige points.

The problem is that I am already sick of Frontlines. I cannot see myself grinding that same map over and over,  every 4th week for the rest of the year. For a couple mediocre premiums I will hardly ever play. For many this game is all about the missions, Wargaming have set the mission bar way too high, where people like me who have the time, will get bored before I am done, and the majority that have less time to play, have no chance of getting the prestige points.

Wargaming should seriously consider lowering the requirements to get prestige points. If getting prestige is too hard where the majority (people that have a life) have  little chance, people will give up and you may end up having timeouts towards the last few months as more and more people stop playing the mode.

At least with the premium tank marathons, the casuals can still make progress - 30, 40, 50% and then pay some cash for the rewards, this mode has no progress or payout option at the end, so bad for most players and bad for Wargamings profits.

My suggestion is no rank resets at the end of each episode If you are at rank 21 working towards your first prestige point at the end of the first episode, that is where you should start when episode 2 begins. At least that way the more casual (paying?) customer has a chance to get 6 or so prestige points for one of the reward tanks.

They already stated progress through ranks carries over to next episode:

"It’s also important to note that your Frontline Tier progress within your Prestige Level will not be reset for each Episode. For example, if in the first Episode you ended up on Frontline Tier 25, then in the second Episode you’ll start from the same point."

Can people please stop just guessing at the rules of the mode and filling the forums with misleading comments about how this works?

There is a fairly comprehensive explanation on the website, by all means ask if something isn't covered but there have been many noise and FUD posts generated based on false assumptions.

After (finally) studying Frontline mechanism and rules...

Eh, level 30 to reach one prestige? Guess i will pass. Feels even STA will be quite a grind if you don't invest time on it, and time is not something I have too many atm.

Back to World of Tanks for now.

Part of the problem is WG putting more prestige points in higher prestige levels.

As it is now, if you want just Emil, you need to get 7 prestiges. If you want only the mystery tier IX, you need 8 prestiges. Yet if you want both, you need 10 prestiges.

It is a good plan to get people to go all 10 prestiges instead of stopping at 7 for example. However it alienates players who can only play 7 prestiges or less because it will not be worth the effort and risk. You 5 prestiges gets STA-2 and nobody is going to work for that.

So it is still the issue of difficulty/grindiness. Apart from the total 10 prestiges already grindy for the rewards, the starting levels have even worse grind-vs-reward ratio. If 4-5 prestiges gets Emil and 6-7 gets mystery tank, I'm sure there will be more people willing to take the risk.

Right now I'm not playing at all out of spite. Which is good for my productivity and rehabilitation to lead a normal life.

Noobs don't snipe because they are good at snipe; noobs snipe because they can't do anything else / People don't lose because they lemming; people lemming because they are losers

Do not confuse team strength with individual strength; a single enemy killed in a 1v3 is worth more than two enemies killed in a 4v2 / Lanchester's Square Law predicts in a 2v1, the side with 2 will end with 1.5 tanks remaining, so if you won with less than that remaining, you're actually noob, not pro

When you are not losing because you outnumber the enemy, your other flank is losing because they are outnumbered; it's just math

Law of mirror: When you are holding a 1v6 against the enemy, you own team is also getting 6v1 held by the enemy

Noob self-balancing theory: When you release a good tank, enough noobs will flood to play it, until the server stats become average again

Not sure if I'm imagining things, but I thought I saw that the reward page in the game client listed that for the hidden tier IX vehicle you need to get to max prestige (level X) and spend 15 prestige points. It's got an icon thing with an X next to the prestige points cost.

Yes you saw correctly. The amount of made up [edited]going around about this mode is incredible.....

Its 6 for the STA2

Its 10 for the WZ

12 for the sweeeeed

15 for the mystery plus you need level X

Green-level gameplay so far netted me 10-15 ranks in 6 hours. 12-18 hours would get you a prestige.

36-54 gameplay hours would finish off this week's quota of 3 prestiges. 9 hours per day for 6 days at a slow pace, or 4 days when thinking. A unicum platoon can probably do it in 2 days, 9 hours each.

No, I was wrong here: I didn't note that the ranks/prestige isnt linear. Grind is probably x3 of my previous estimate.

AKA it's too grindy. Way for WG to actually make Frontlines not fun by dangling the carrot too far in front.

I think level 21 is about half way to prestige

Tier 21 = 15,700 points only 14,300 to go...

The tiering is deceptive why not make it halfway? eg. Tier 15?

Perhaps if they'd simplified the grind to encourage doing well and discourage botting the mode would improve.

Or for those too lazy to run a spreadsheet to count the points in between tiers:

Does tier level will be carried to next season? Like if i end up this season at tier level 21, so the next season, i will start at tier 21 or 1?

So, having not had the chance to play this week's FL until today, I wasn't too put out about the XP for prestige issue. I mean, I'm not going to get far just playing a few hours today.

But with these increased prestige marks, it seems like the individual ranks to achieve prestige are in fact pretty worthless? yeah, sure you get kits and credits, but the bonds reward for getting to Prestige Rank 1 is just 250?

Ugh.

Whenever I see a bond reward that you could outdo just by playing TX games, it's like... really WG?

I guess Prestige Rank 5 makes it seem a little more worthwhile, but still.

Wait... the in-client listing for Prestige Rank 1 says you can get 100 bonds and 300 gold instead of 250 bonds and 200 gold... did they gimp the rewards even further?!
