Just a ? What are the two circles on the minimap surrounding your tank

TWo circles surrounding your tank on the minimap

 one white the other yellowish green.

 

The white one on the inside.

 

The yellowish green on the outside.

1st is your view range, the 2nd is your rendering range 

IIRC the render range is 564 meters. Beyond that they won't be rendered but if they are spotted they'll still show up on your minimap, and you can use that to line up a shot and shoot them anyway.

This render range is the same for every vehicle in the game and cannot be changed with skills, equipment or anything else. Your view range is something rather different, and is used to determine whether you personally can spot enemy vehicles. If someone else in your team is spotting for you, your own view range could be 0 and any spotted enemies would still show up on your minimap and, if within render range, the tank models will be visible.

    How many flipping posts do I need to get past Major?

A screen shot would help as i'm pretty sure different mods have different coloured circles.

 

But generally speaking the small circle around your tank is proxy spot range. The next largest is either view range if less than 445m or both VR and 445m. Sometimes you'll also get draw range at 550m(?) or whatever it is.

Speaking of circles, anyone know how to mod in a max distance (720m i think) that your shell can do damage for those beyond draw shots?

That's when it used to be a render box rather than a circle. The box had a 500m radius making the diagonal draw 707m. It was changed to a render circle but I can't remember the radius length. 

I'm running the XVM minimap so I have three circles, four if i'm using an autocannon. 50m proximity, view range, draw range and the autocannon maximum range. IIRC a shell can hit any target within 1000m+. I remember seeing a document which had all of the cannon ranges but I can't remember the source.

Arty can, but everyone else is limited to about 720m or thereabouts.
