So... You got your first tier 8. And its that time of year we call frontline. You play a battle, and last a few minutes. Now you're thinking what the hell you did wrong and what the hell happened.

 

what is frontline?

frontline is a 30v30 format in where players battle against each other in a 9km2 map. They fight to control zones and defend or destroy objectives.

the meta

the meta for FL is:

French wheeled and tracked lights

Italian autoreloaders

Soviet IS series heavies.

american meds and heavies.

British heavies and meds

Swedish td, heavy, meds

German heavies and meds and lights and very rarely Tds.

French autoloading heavies

German and american arties

 

some not meta tanks are polish and czech tanks, along with british arties

. You might see them, but they are'nt in the meta.

Every tank has a role. Wheelies harrass with italian spaghettos, brits and 'muricans push, swedes keep a support role, soviet stalinium pushes and cleans up, germans help push, and french heavies also support.

Find the role or playstyle that fits you. 

This is the first in the series of guides on frontline by me. Ill release more guides on meta tanks so you know your tier 8 and its role in frontline.

I think you forgot arties!

 

I played some FL hoping that I can escape arty but lo and behold, I still see arties there too. I asked why and they said it's easier to farm damage and reset cap.

 

Skoda T27 is quite good because of its three clip autoloader. Relatively short reload and the intra-clip reload is very good, very fast. 

 

50TP prototyp is also a good choice. Gun handling is better than the Defender and it has relatively good armor, just not blessed by Stalin. 

 

For French autoloading heavy, only the Somua SM is worth using. The AMX 50 100 with its long reload and abyssmal gun handling isn't even that competitive considering there are wheeled tanks and Italian autoreloaders. 

 

That is my experience so far.

Lo there, this is my main. Im grinding tye batchat and the charioteer. I took the turtle mk 1 as rental and the t32 FL as rental for season 3 of frontline. Im planning to grind the 50 100 and the pantera but im going to stop playing wot for about 3 months to take a break. Also saving bonds to get the guard and might blueprint my way to the lynx. I wrote the guide based on tanks i encountered in frontline and the roles i played and seen the meta tanks in. Im also writing the guide from what i see in streams and videos, and devise tactics using the wiki and videos as learning material for certain tanks.

Ps. Captain noch, i see the 50 100 more frequently than the prototyp and T27. Ill cover them in future guides after i learn more about them.

Great guide. I followed the advice and stopped using polish tanks and started using German heavies instead, and I got my first Lieutenant rank!

 

Waiting for more guides to come up so I might get my first Captain rank too.

i thought it was gonna be a guide about how to pen the turrets because clearly thats what everyone is doing at 2 min of battle... Seems like a guide to be followed by guide followers, which is not a bad to follow guides but if its too mainstream guide then everyone will do the same thing and that will start making the frontlines gets all the profit shared like a true russian game likes doing (dividing all frontline profit among the proletariat equally instead of allowing few people from earning too much credit)..
