Hi, new player here, just recently found the game due to iso but watched lots of clips before starting to play, i really enjoy the pvp type of games.

I have a question about clans, what's the benefits of joining one?

Do large aussie clans take on noobs like me or do i need to get to a higher tier?

Thanks in advance :)

I still think it's morally wrong so in fact I'm right.

Clans have a lot of uses/benefits:

  • you get xp and cred bonuses for being in one
  • you get much greater social exposure in one - every night can be a social event
  • you'll meet lots of people and potentially pick up new friendships
  • if your clan is competitive, you'll pick up significant rewards (tanks, gold, bonds etc)
  • you'll be around experienced players that assist in your wot development - calling, playing, management etc
  • you'll learn how to walldeck
  • ???
  • profit.

There's a lot of benefits in being in clan bud, the above is just a few.

Would a clan take you on board? Potentially, but your pickings will be somewhat limited until you get a few more tanks and learn a bit more about the game. You've made the right move coming to forums and seeking this info early though - the wot community is always happy to help people that want to learn.

Blatant bit of self promotion I know but there are plenty of clans out there - Aussie and others - who take on newer players - well done for doing a bit of research though - best of luck!

This link should work: https://asia.wargaming.net/clans/wot/recruit_members/

Thanks for both your help, my original idea was to get good at lower tiers before moving up too early but i may need to rethink that

No, that is the best strategy for becoming a better player.  There are clans that have development sub-clans that will take players who are at lower tiers.

Thanks mate, another noob question. I've just completed the recruit training missions so i can pick a t6 tank, can you suggest a couple of good options which could help me get into a clan? I guess i'm asking which tanks are more desired by clans

War declaration, but punnier.

Its an old part of the clam warts culture before certain events killed it.

Walldeck - war declaration from one clan to another where your clan goes out of the way to post memes and generally just smash the other clan whilst getting smashed at the same time. A good walldeck created tonnes of fun for all involved as well as forum stalkers harvesting memes.

Clam warts - clan wars.

in the Days of Punder these terms were relevant, not so much these days.
